There are places in New York where love just flows.
Dumbo is one of them.

They were just sitting, no rush, looking at each other, laughing. No pose, no “look at the camera”. Just the two of them, with the bridge and the city as witnesses.

And that is my job.
To be attentive. Always. Because these moments don’t repeat. You can’t ask for them twice. They happen only once, spontaneously, and if you’re not present, they’re gone.

I don’t believe in interrupting love to photograph it. I believe in observing it until it flows on its own.

That’s documentary photography.

That look, that hand interlaced in silence—there is no price tag or rehearsal for it. It is pure certainty, experienced just once.

We didn’t stage that tenderness. We didn’t direct that connection. We were simply there, allowing that unrepeatable second to become something that could be held onto forever.

I don’t ask you to look at the camera; I ask you to forget it’s there.

My job isn’t to create perfect, posed moments. It’s to be there—present and attentive—for when life truly unfolds: the nervous laughter before the “I do,” the trembling handshake, the embrace you never want to let go of, the tear that slips out unbidden.

Documentary photography isn’t about how you looked that day. It’s about how you felt.

And those feelings—when they are real and spontaneous—need no filters or poses. They last forever.
