When we got the gallery back from Kate & Zachary’s wedding and I saw all of these fabulous photos of Kate’s grandma, I knew I wouldn’t be able to choose just one or 2 to share from their day. This woman needed her own post.

Grandma Dot is 95 and is livin’ life. Her smile just lights up a room (and a dance floor). This is the kind of joy and delight I want to bring to a wedding day when I’m that age. Don’t you?

Owning a wedding venue has its perks. When your good friends plan a 20 year vow renewal, figuring out a place to gather is easy. We’ve known Josh and Susanna for 15 years, our kids have grown up together, we’ve attended the same church body, and along with many joyful moments, we’ve also walked alongside each other through a number of hard things.

So this past Monday night, watching them celebrate that they’ve been married for 20 years and hearing them read their vows to each other (which was beautiful as they’re both writers!) and commit to continuing to be there for each other was a meaningful moment to behold.

When you’re at a wedding or a vow renewal, ponder the words that are being spoken. Consider what it means in your life and also what it looks like to support the couple you’re there celebrating.
How can you check in? Do you dare ask the hard questions? Not just a “how are you?” but maybe “how is your marriage going? Tell me about what’s going well and what’s been hard.” What a gift when you have someone to listen and support you!!

took so many vibrant and candid shots at Robin & Ron's July wedding-here are a few of our favorites! This first one makes me smile every time I see it-Robin is leading a procession down the aisle to the dance floor to get the party started. 💃

Following the ceremony, everyone enjoyed delicious food as well as games, dancing, a bubble send off. What a beautiful day with family and friends!

Shoutout to for surprising us at the beginning of the season by making Black Sheep Shelter t-shirts for the whole crew!

Cassidy, , Kayla and Brian are amazing team members who go over and above to help everyone have a great experience on their wedding day. Our kids are also on staff-Tsepo and Naomi assist with mowing (7 acres is a lot 😜) and McKenna does Friday morning cleaning in the venue to help kick off the weekend’s weddings.

With 3 weddings every weekend plus mowing, weeding, maintenance/projects in the venue, gardening, emails and calls from current and future couples, weekly tours, vendor connections, website and social media upkeep and more, it makes us REALLY appreciate our team!

Ana & Sebastian are beautiful people with kind, gentle hearts. The purples they chose to accent their day just popped against the black backdrops!

Their day was filled with good conversation, laughter, and plenty of delicious food. Check out the chocolate cake and chocolate fondue fountain (+ cheesecake bites and other treats not shown). The dessert table was not lacking!
