South Hadley Chorale

South Hadley Chorale South Hadley Chorale, Anita Anderson Cooper, Music Director/Conductor Our members are drawn from South Hadley, Massachusetts and many surrounding communities.

The South Hadley Chorale was founded in 1984 as the South Hadley Community Chorus to celebrate Bach’s 300th anniversary. Under the direction of the founder, Dr. Barbara Conant, Bach’s Mass in B minor was performed in the inaugural year. We now rehearse each year starting in October and, in March, perform a major choral work with orchestra.

With deep sadness, the South Hadley Chorale announces the passing of board president, Barbara "Bobbie" Ayers on July 8. Bobbie led the Chorale as president since its beginning in 1985. For 41 years, she was the heart and soul of the chorus and a respected and beloved leader. She will be sorely missed.
