I now realize that everything I’ve experienced—both in my childhood and throughout my career—has prepared me to help others.

From her grandmother’s kitchen at age 7 to award-winning entrepreneur, Laquisha Jackson has transformed her passion for cooking into a force for change.

After nearly two decades in hospitality, she launched Soulful Kitchen, elevating Southern cuisine while proving that resilience and vision can break cycles of adversity. Through SBEAP, Laquisha sharpened her business skills and grew her catering venture into a thriving enterprise.

But her story doesn’t stop at business success — Laquisha founded Hope 4 the Hungry to fight food insecurity in her community and created a youth culinary program to empower the next generation. Her leadership and dedication recently earned her the Michael H. Boyce Award, recognizing courage, commitment, and impact.

Her advice to aspiring entrepreneurs: “Find the thing you are passionate about and get involved in it.”

Here’s to celebrating Laquisha’s journey! One day, she hopes to see her own cookware and seasoning on shelves in grocery stores nationwide.

Today, I had the opportunity to participate in the Taste Event for the Indiana Pacers, and I’m thrilled to share that I was selected as one of the Guest Chefs for the upcoming season!
The KeyBank Guest Chef Program, facilitated by Fieldhouse Food Co.—a partnership between PS&E and Levy—manages all food and beverage experiences at Gainbridge Fieldhouse

A few years ago, I had a similar experience at Notre Dame, and I’m so grateful for this next level of elevation, expansion, and new opportunities.
My business will be featured at five Pacers games in the coming months!

Grateful for the journey and excited for what’s ahead! 💛💙

After participating in the Ronald McDonald Fundraiser in Indianapolis last week, I received an unexpected email with two complimentary tickets to the Ronald McDonald Fundraiser here at home in South Bend. These tickets are valued at $350 each, and I was absolutely overwhelmed with gratitude!

Soulful Kitchen has proudly participated in several Ronald McDonald House fundraisers, and we truly appreciate the continued invitation to support such a meaningful cause.

With only two days to prepare, I had to figure out what to wear—and my hairstyle! Thankfully, Adrienne Davis came to the rescue and styled me from head to toe. Thank you, beautiful, for making it all come together so perfectly!

I have a deep appreciation for the Ronald McDonald House and the incredible work they do to support families. I also have my own personal story connected to this organization that I will share one day.

In honor of Women’s Small Business Month, I had the pleasure of serving as a panelist on the Women Impact Panel: Business Owner Edition.

The event was held at INOVA Federal Credit Union in Elkhart, Indiana, and it was a true privilege to share the stage with Amy and Kate. I enjoyed the opportunity to share my story and entrepreneurial journey with an incredible audience. ❤️

As a member of the American Culinary Federation in Indianapolis, I had the opportunity to participate in the Ronald McDonald House fundraiser. Each chef was challenged to use McDonald’s ingredients in their dish, and I picked up three to create mine. It was such a fun and meaningful experience meeting other chefs and supporting Riley Hospital for Children.

I love being at the Women Executive Leadership Institute in Indianapolis. Today I heard The Honorable Loretta Rush, Chief Justice of the Indiana Supreme Court, speak. Her story was so inspiring and a great reminder that at the end of the day, we’re all just human.

While large events will always hold a special place in my heart, we’ve been receiving more opportunities to cater intimate private gatherings in some of the most beautiful homes/Airbnb—and I’m truly enjoying this new direction. I’m deeply grateful for the growth, the opportunities, and the continued support that makes it all possible.
