Last Friday, we spoke with Habitat for Humanity Board Member Jon Roberts about the upcoming Homes for Heroes: A Celebration of Service — happening Thursday, April 24th at 5:30 PM at Somerset Veterans Memorial Park, located at the corner of Oak and Main Street in downtown Somerset.
This special event, hosted by the Lake Cumberland Military Su***de Prevention Coalition of Pulaski County, honors the service and sacrifice of our veterans and their families. Now in its second year, the celebration will include free food, prizes for veterans, and live music from a powerful lineup of veteran-connected singer-songwriters: Jory Bowling (U.S. Army Veteran), Savannah Dean Reeves (whose twin brother currently serves in the U.S. Navy), and Jared Shoemaker (U.S. Navy Veteran). The evening will open with a performance of the National Anthem by Brando Vanschoyck.
Families are welcome, and the event is supported by Habitat for Humanity, Adanta Regional Prevention Center, the City of Somerset, Somerset Community College, Lifeline Home Health Care, and Volunteers of America Mid-States.
