I have been physically sick with grief and worrying over the last few days. I just sent this message out to a few of my clients, but I wanted to post it here as well so everyone knew. I am so saddened and sorry about this. I will do my best to make it right.
“I am having to send this same message to three clients, and it absolutely sickens me. Please read the whole message and let me know your thoughts. I am prepared to be shamed and reviewed harshly as I have made a mistake.
Two weeks ago, my editing laptop was knocked off my desk and since then, I kept getting error messages and the computer would not boot. I sent it off to have it looked at and the news was grim. The hard drive is damaged and inaccessible. The hard drive must have already been damaged they believe and this was just the final straw (this is probably the reason I was having uploading issues because it was having a hard time accessing the hard drive).
Here is the bad news: all the edited versions of the sessions were in the hard drive, and it wasn’t backing up to my external memory bank like it should. So I have no copies of your edited pictures.
Here is the good news. I ALWAYS manually make a copy of all the raw files onto that external hard drive, so I have every photo taken, they just aren’t edited and cleaned up.
I am going today to order a new laptop (I have had to wait a few days as I had depleted funds because of Christmas) and as soon as I get it I will get your photos going again. In the mean time, I have an associate working on the photos as well, to get them turned around as soon as possible.
I am never like this, I promise, and I pride myself on being professional. I have failed that, and I deeply apologize. I’m happy to do what I can to make that up to you.
