July 4th weekend…. Get ready for the party of the summer!!!

Ocean City Beach, NC has my heart!!! This place is full of sun, soul, and so much history!!! It is a special strip in between North Topsail Beach and Surf City.

It’s home to the first Black-owned beachfront community in North Carolina. Every July, it comes alive with the , a nonprofit event that helps preserve this incredible place and supports jazz education for the next generation.

My favorite part of the weekend? Hands down the White Attire Party! Dancing under the stars, shopping from amazing local vendors, and eating my way through the best food trucks (almost all Black-owned!). It’s the perfect mix of culture, community, and joy.

If you’ve never been…. put it on your list. You’ll leave with sandy toes, a full belly, and a heart overflowing.

The sky showed off, the ocean sang its song, and these two brought all the magic to Surf City Pier last night.
From forehead kisses to the sweetest glances, their love was basically its own little sunset.

We laughed, we danced (okay, they danced, I cheered them on), and captured a night full of memories that feel like pure sunshine bottled up.

Nothing better than photographing a beautiful couple beginning new adventures.

Hey there, fellow adventurers! I’m so excited to have you join us on our journey through life, laughter, and lens clicks. Meet the Rudy crew – Jake, me, and our dynamic duo, Jameson and Betty.

Our story began in Williamsburg, VA, where Jake and I first met in the 6th grade. Fast forward to college days at Elon University, and our love story blossomed against the backdrop of late-night study sessions and campus shenanigans. Post college we went home while Jake chased his master’s degree, followed by the beginning of our Marine Corps life.

In between all the moves and adventures, we’ve carved out our own little traditions – like Friday movie nights and cheering each other on in all our endeavors. But perhaps our greatest adventure yet has been embracing the wild ride of parenthood.

Jamey, our seven-year-old ball of energy, and Betty, our two-year-old firecracker, bring so much joy and laughter into our lives. They’re the stars of our show, and every day with them is a new chapter of fun and discovery.

As a mom and a photographer, I’ve learned a thing or two about the importance of capturing these fleeting moments. Family photoshoots can be chaotic, but they’re also a chance to freeze-frame the love, laughter, and connection that define us.

That’s why I’m on a mission to make every session as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. Whether I’m coaxing out genuine smiles, capturing candid moments, or simply ensuring everyone feels comfortable and relaxed, I pour my heart and soul into each click of the shutter.

This girl is obsessed with two things…. Minnie Mouse and all things basketball. I don’t know another 2 year old who will have the attention span to sit and watch basketball for 30 mins straight but here we are. I knew we needed to combine them for her “ 🏀H TWO-dles” themed birthday! When we went to Disney over Spring Break I even took her ball to have Minnie and Mickey autograph it!

Unfortunately she was sick for her actual birthday last week so we had to push the celebration and pictures to this week! While Jamey was at baseball practice, we headed to the basketball court at the same park here in Sneads Ferry. She was more concerned about watching a family play than getting her picture taken but I bribed her with M&Ms and got a couple of good pics to celebrate!
