I would like to share with you the history of our beautiful venue in Snead Al . Bullard Farm Hitchin Post has been a blessing to me , my family and friends and so many that have graced it with their presence . Jerry and I originally built the pavilion by the lake to hold concerts and have benefits for cancer patients or anyone in need . I write and sing and that was a dream of mine to have a place where we could help the community and Blount County.
Because of the beauty on the property we began booking wedding because people were asking .
Staying booked with weddings we decided to built a bigger event center . We cut all our own wood and actually have 8 different kinds of wood in the building . Beautiful wood tables and I built the Chandelier . We built the garbage cans out of a sycamore tree. Everything there is personal even the cherry wood vanity in the brides room to the cedar swing out by the lake .
Jerry went home to be with the Lord January 2021. But he’s still everywhere on the property . All the work we did together there. So many have made memories there and I hope many more will be made . Jerry and I had our 50 th anniversary at venue in 2019. I’m so thankful for that .
I feel God sent a man to my venue to perform a wedding in 2020 ,Dave Blakney . He was a Canadian born but lived in New Hampshire . He met Jerry that day and my grandson Landon .
He moved to Alabama in 2022 and we married in 2023. We continue to work hard and we enjoy having the weddings and gatherings and having all the family for different occasions .
There seems to be many venues arising up all around . Ours is unique and has a spirit about it . It’s my little piece of heaven on earth . Sunsets are amazing over the lake. I’m so proud of my new pier and everything around there .
I love giving tours and telling all about how it came about .
