Yesterday marked 20 years since Hurricane Katrina — a storm that forever changed us. As a homegrown resident of Greater New Orleans, I know we never truly forget. Its name lives in our conversations, our stories, and our hearts.

But more than anything, I remember the resilience. The way neighbors became family, the way music and culture stitched us back together, and the way this city’s spirit refused to be broken.

This city, its music, and its people will forever be the lifeblood that keeps us going. This will always be home. Because home is where the heart is — and this city has heart and soul. ♥️ 🎷
