Dear Community Members,
It’s that time of year again! The SAHS Annual Barn Sale is just around the corner — and it’s the perfect chance to clear out those gently used items you no longer need, all while supporting a great cause.
The Barn Sale is the Spafford Area Historical Society’s largest annual fundraiser, and your generous donations help keep SAHS programs and operations going strong.

• Friday, July 19 – 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
• Friday, July 26 – 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

• Thursday, August 8 – 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Sale Day:
Friday, August 9 – Doors open at 9:00 AM

Friends remember that we have the Carol Bryant quartet playing at the Borodino Community Center (a.k.a the hall) this Saturday night! Please come support her band as they will be recording a professional video.

Friends, we have been in contact with Midlakes Navigation and the sunset cruise is still on. We think we are going to catch a break with the weather (did I say that out loud?).

We still have some spots available for folks who want to join us without RSVP. We will see you tonight for good times.

Friends, reminder that Karen is giving a talk at the Borodino Community Center tonight at 6:30 p.m.

Karen Hempson, local author, is giving a presentation on her recent book, Shellback, a historical fiction depicting life in the 1930’s and 40’s from the perspective of a young boy whose parents immigrated from Italy, as well as his life in World War II’s Pacific Theater, beginning with the Japanese surprise attack at Pearl Harbor.

Friends, we are having an open house with refreshments at the hall after the Memorial Day parade, er... gathering at 1 p.m. today in downtown Borodino. Come check out the renovations and enjoy some good people. Plus there will be firetrucks. (Your humble narrator still dreams of the day he will have a fireman's pole to slide down to his basement.) We hope to see you there.
