It’s the eve of my 10 year wedding anniversary and the beginning of Garden Gables - after hosting our own wedding on our property everyone told us “you should do weddings!” and we did just that.
2023 is Garden Gables 10th season and it is also our last.
It took me a few months of saying it out loud to believe myself but each time I did I was reassured it was the right decision.
We always felt like our property was meant to be shared - and we did for 10 years - with so many wonderful couples and their families.
Building this business is something I’m proud of and feel so thankful for the experience and what it was able to provide along the way but now we are just going to enjoy it as our home with our young son, Beau.
Our arc has been completed ✨

The very first flower arbor on the trellis 💕
Honestly, I hadn’t thought to do this until my friend wanted it for her wedding here in 2015 (season 2 of Garden Gables).
After this photo just about every couple has wanted an arbor 🌿
They are always different and always beautiful !!

We have been taking a pause this summer on walk throughs and future bookings to enjoy our new son 💙, focus on this season’s clients and to change up our business plan.
We want to fill our cup doing this passion project, not deplete it. So after 8 seasons we have decided to move away from larger events and focus on more intimate gatherings.
We have quality preferred vendors that we will now insist upon working with.
We will also be offering some planning options to help things run more efficiently.
After hosting a special celebration / unique mini concert series last weekend we are also hoping to see more diversity in our events moving forward.
We appreciate and are grateful for all of the inquiries and people’s love for what we have created out here 🙏🏼

Our Story

Garden Gables is one of the more affordable venue options in Northern Door County. Our average start date for the season is mid June and continues through September. We have a limited barn capacity of 92 persons but offer a large sandstone lot (40x100) to accommodate a tent and seating over 150. Garden Gables is a great fit for the ambitious bride and groom. All aspects of your day are chosen independently by you. We are not affiliated with any other companies so it gives you creative control and allows you to work within your price point. Price point depends on the size of your event and whether or not you have a planner. We love to collaborate with the "do it yourself" couple.
