The SDDOT is excited to announce the 2026 International Aviation Art Contest! A child’s imagination is always an amazing thing. When you combine aviation, art, and that imagination, wonderful things can happen.

This contest is for children ages 6 to 17. The top three entries from South Dakota in each age group will be forwarded to Washington, D.C. to participate in the national competition.

Let your imagination soar and create a work of art that fits the theme, “Fly to Save Lives.” Grab your favorite pens, paints, or crayons and share your vision with us.

All entries must be postmarked by Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, and mailed to the SDDOT's, Office of Air, Rail, & Transit. Find additional contact information at https://dot.sd.gov/transportation/aviation/aerospace-education/.
