What an amazing turnout for an indoor picnic!!

The weather did not turn like we thought it was going to… but it was a great day… many new members and transfer members were talked to and paperwork completed today!!

Each year, we share the winning Young American Creative Patriotic Art, 3-Dimensional Patriotic Art and Illustrating America contest art on our social media ahead of National Convention.

This year is no exception! However, we will be sharing them a bit differently. As we've had a record number of entries, we are not able to share every one from each Department for all three competitions. Instead, we will be counting down all of the National Winners starting on Friday, August 1 (tomorrow), with the final winners – first place for the Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest and the 3-Dimensional Art Contest – being uploaded early in the morning on August 9, ahead of the opening of the Exhibit Hall at the Columbus Convention Center, where National Convention will be held.

Each day prior to National Convention, we will share three winning works, beginning with Young American Creative Patriotic Art National winners in 19th, 18th and 17th place, continuing until we have shared through 2nd place, then 4th, 3rd and 2nd place in the 3-Dimensional Patriotic Art Contest and finally 3rd, 2nd and 1st place in the Illustrating America contest (all grade levels).

As always, we remind visitors to our Facebook and Instagram pages to remember that these works of art were created by talented, patriotic students in grades K-12. While we welcome positive feedback and sharing of the posts, we reserve the right to delete any comments that are political/partisan, overly critical or rude. Additionally, hate speech will result in an immediate ban from the VFW Auxiliary National Headquarters social media pages; cruelty will NOT be tolerated.

What a special day!! President Deb and Treasurer Kim traveled to Dakota Dunes for the presentation of the Centenarian Award to Robert Irwin (100) and Robert Ensrud (95) sent from Secretary of Veterans Affairs Douglas Collins.. Presentation was made by Sara Ackert, Director, Royal C Johnson VA Hospital.

Mr Irwin lost his medals in the floods. Jeff Wendling from the VA contacted Senator Rounds and Mr Irwins medals were replaced and placed in a shadow box put together by JMB Auxiliary members Roxann Z and Kim V.

It was an amazing day celebrating the birthdays of these Veterans!

What a recycled night!!! Seven Auxiliary members and 4 guests got together for our work night. We cut used plastic bags, joined them to make plarn, set up the loom, weaved sleeping mats for the homeless veterans at the Veteran Outreach Center.

President Deb treated everyone to pizza, brownies and root beer float cake!! AND we celebrated Monicas 17th birthday, which included a serenade by the Post 15 Singing Legionnaires!!

Together we can accomplish all things!!!
