GET IN, LOSER. 💋 A Mean Girls Night at DaDa

On October 3rd, we’re going back to North Shore High for a night dedicated to one of the most quotable, iconic eras of the 2000s.

Wear pink. Bring your best friends. And whatever you do… don’t end up in the Burn Book.

We’re transforming DaDa into our own version of North Shore for a night of Y2K nostalgia, music, characters, cocktails and just the right amount of drama.

Expect:

💋 The Burn Book — leave a message, confession, compliment, insult or piece of gossip behind.

📸 Mean Girls Photo Ops — because if there isn’t photographic evidence, did it even happen?

👑 Character Visits — you never know who might show up throughout the night. Regina? Karen? Damian? A Cool Mom? Keep your eyes open.

🎧 Live DJs spinning the soundtrack to your early-2000s dreams — Britney, Beyoncé, Usher, Rihanna, Gaga, Ke$ha, Nelly Furtado, Ciara, Black Eyed Peas and plenty of songs you completely forgot you knew every word to.

🍸 Themed Cocktails + Drinks inspired by the movie, the characters and some of our favorite moments.

📝 Mean Girls Trivia — think you actually know the movie? Prove it. We may even have something special for our highest-scoring Plastic.

Plus movie references, surprises and little moments hidden throughout the night.

Spanning genres and disciplines, Dessa’s style is defined by wit, tenderness, rigor, and candor.

As a musician, she’s co-composed for large choirs; crowdsurfed at rock clubs; recorded a live album with the Grammy-winning Minnesota Orchestra; and contributed a track to the #1 album The Hamilton Mixtape.

As a speaker, Dessa regularly presents on art, science, and entrepreneurship at colleges and universities across the US. Her TED Talk, which recounts her science experiment on how to fall out of love, has notched more than 4 million views.

As an author, she’s written for The New York Times and National Geographic Traveler; been broadcast by the BBC; and published several literary collections including the memoir-in-essays My Own Devices (Penguin Random House).

She’s currently serving as Artist in Residence at Georgetown University’s Music Sustainability Initiative.

And we get to welcome her back to ICON on February 27th.
