If sitting still isn't really your thing on vacation, Queenstown should probably be on your list. You can spend the morning hiking, get out on the lake in the afternoon, and still have time to explore the town or grab dinner. And wherever you go, there's a pretty good chance you'll have an incredible mountain view along the way.

Just because your hotel room isn't ready yet doesn't mean you have to spend the afternoon sitting around with your suitcase. A lot of hotels will hold your bags for you, so you can drop them off and head out while they get your room ready. Not a huge thing, but it can make arrival day a lot easier.

Would you rather have a private outdoor space with an amazing view or a huge room with plenty of space? With a view, you could sit and stare for hours, taking it all in.
