Special post today about engagement rings and and wedding bands. This is not an ad and it’s not a political post. This is simply responding to a myriad of questions I have been getting from my clients on what to do when it comes to buying their rings for their wedding day in the midst of the tariff war we have going on. The higher the price, the higher the tariffs you will pay on anything new. That’s just a fact. Now, more than ever I am encouraging everyone to think differently. A vintage or antique ring will have zero tariffs. In the coming months as you are about to get married or about to get engaged…think about buying your diamonds or precious gemstones from estate sales or curated from expert antique jewelers from around the world. One of my favorite dealers in antique rings is based in Texas. She has access to dealers all around the world for antique engagement rings and wedding bands. The rings featured in this post are from her own inventory! Unique designs featuring gemstones like emeralds and sapphires are trending and are incredibly timeless!
You can also follow as she features local DC area estate sales every week on her IG that have interesting pieces of jewelry and maybe even things for your wedding day and new home. Estate sales are especially great for men’s wedding bands.
Keep in mind you can find cheaper estate sale diamonds and gemstones on a setting you might hate and just get a new setting and make it yours! I recommend for this as they have some of the most amazing in-house jewelers/goldsmith with the most knowledge in the DC area.
If you don’t want anything but a new diamond or gemstone, has always been my family jeweler for their pricing, expertise, knowledge, and customization process!
Don’t forget family heirloom rings that can also be transformed into a new ring for your wedding day. That’s what I have with my grandmother’s diamonds!
I can’t wait to see what ring you pick out for your big day!
