If you caught Steve’s latest blog, you know we had some winter weather this week at the farm ❄️ just as he was finishing up the last of the harvest!

We’ve got an abundance of beautiful produce to share, sweet peppers, green tomatoes and sweet potatoes, all freshly harvested and full of flavor and we'll be bringing them to the Fredonia Market this weekend!

A Brisket that Keeps on Giving 🥩

Julie’s been cooking up a traditional family recipe (thank you Deb from the Williamsville Market!) and it’s become a new favorite around here. The secret? LOTS of onions, a touch of paprika, and makes enough to feed a family of 4 and have leftovers to keep you smiling all week long...

As our farmers market season in Williamsville has come to a close, we want to send a huge thank you to all of you who stopped by our stand, shared a smile, and supported our small family farm this year. ❤️

Your purchases do so much more than fill your fridge (and your belly!), they help us keep practicing regenerative agriculture, caring for our animals and the land, and growing the kind of healthy, nutrient-dense food we all deserve. 🌎

The last of the leaves are falling, and we’re tucking things away for winter here at The Heron. The woods are still showing off, golden yellows glowing against a bright blue sky, long shadows stretching across a blanket of leaves. Bare branches reach up like they’re waving goodbye to the season.

We’re so grateful for everyone who shared time on the land with us this season, your presence, laughter, and energy added to the spirit of this place we all love. 💛

In light of the ongoing government shutdown and possible delays in SNAP benefit distributions, the Jamestown Farmers Market and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church are committed to ensuring that everyone has access to fresh and local food.

‼️Starting Saturday, November 1st at the Saturday farmers market, anyone who presents a valid EBT card and SNAP Determination Letter will receive $15 in JFM Market Bucks to spend at the market. This offer also extends to unpaid and furloughed federal employees who may be facing uncertainty about pay or food access (please bring your staff ID). ‼️

While our current funding allows us to provide this support to 50 individuals per market day, with your help, we can reach even more people. Every donation expands our ability to put fresh, local food on the tables of families who need it most.

💵Shoppers who have a balance on their EBT card can also double their SNAP dollars through the NYS FreshConnect Checks Program by visiting the Market Information Table, presenting their EBT card, and receiving a dollar-for-dollar match in FreshConnect Checks and wooden SNAP tokens. Both FreshConnect Checks and SNAP tokens can be used to purchase any eligible food item including but not limited to: fruits and vegetables, meat, eggs, baked goods, dairy products, honey, maple syrup, sauces, jams, and more!

📍The Jamestown Farmers Market will be held indoors at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church (entry on 4th Street/wheelchair accessible) beginning November 1st from 9 am – 1 pm. Together, we can ensure that everyone in our community has access to fresh, nutritious food, and that our local food system remains resilient through challenging times.
