📚❤️ A little reading, a lot of smiles, and some wonderful memories!

Mayor Cubero and I had a great time yesterday reading to the 1st and 2nd graders at Roby Elementary School! 📖

It’s always such a joy to spend time with our young students, see their smiling faces, hear their curious questions, and witness their excitement for learning! Their energy and enthusiasm are contagious, and they certainly know how to make us smile! 😊

A BIG thank you to Roby Elementary for inviting us to be part of your day! We enjoyed every minute of it! ❤️📚

Our Town Square is coming together beautifully, and we couldn't be more excited to share these special additions with our community!

🇺🇸 HONORING OUR HEROES: Our male and female soldier statues are now proudly displayed at the Shepherdsville Veterans Memorial Wall! These statues serve as a lasting tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country, reminding us of their courage, sacrifices, and dedication to our freedom.

❤️ A special THANK YOU to the American Legion Auxiliary Post 157 for generously sponsoring the female soldier statue! Your support has helped make this meaningful tribute possible!

🦬 A NOD TO OUR HISTORY: Our beautiful bison statue has officially found its home beneath the Shepherdsville arch!

But did you know the bison represents an important part of our area's history?

Long before Shepherdsville became the community we know and love, bison traveled through Kentucky in search of natural salt licks. These mineral-rich areas attracted large herds of wildlife, creating trails that were later used by Native Americans and early settlers. The salt licks and salt-making industry played an important role in the early development of Bullitt County and the Shepherdsville area.

Our new bison statue is more than just a beautiful addition to Town Square — it's a tribute to the history and heritage that helped shape our community! 🦬

Our vision for Shepherdsville's Town Square is to create a welcoming space where neighbors become friends, families make memories, and generations come together. A place where we can celebrate our community's history, honor those who served, and take pride in the place we call home.

Join us on Saturday, October 18th, from 1:00–4:00 PM as we celebrate 100 years of serving the Shepherdsville community!
We’re opening our doors to the public for a special anniversary celebration showcasing our department’s rich history, how far we’ve come, and the equipment and capabilities that help us serve our community today.
The celebration will also include several pinning ceremonies recognizing important milestones within our department, along with an opportunity to meet our newest hires and welcome the next generation of firefighters serving Shepherdsville!
