What a fun day of learning and discovery at the Earl Scruggs Center!

This morning, we welcomed students from the Cleveland County Arts Council's Youth Summer Photography Class. Led by local artist and educator Steven Pruitt, students explored the museum before turning their attention—and their cameras—to one of our most popular subjects, the Earl Scruggs statue. Along the way, several students recognized members of the Bluegrass Ambassadors in our Pickin' Story interactive, a reminder of the connections students are making to our region's music through our educational programming.

This afternoon, attendees gathered for our Lunch & Learn program with Nicholas Edward Williams-- musician, musicologist, and host of the amazing American Songcatcher podcast. Guests enjoyed lunch while learning about the ballad traditions that have shaped North Carolina and American music for centuries.

Summer is a great time to visit the Earl Scruggs Center. Follow along and connect with us to learn more about upcoming programs, exhibits, and events for all ages ➡ https://earlscruggscenter.org/events/
