A little more about Brian and Henry:
Brian Harnetty is a composer, artist, and author based in Columbus, Ohio. He is known for his music projects with sound archives, and for working with communities in Appalachian Ohio. Brian is currently the Board President of Sunday Creek Associates, and he teaches musicology and music composition at The Ohio State University.

Henry Harnetty is a musician and songwriter. He plays many different instruments and styles of music, from jazz to indie rock. Henry just graduated from Whetstone High School in Columbus, and will be studying guitar at DePaul University in Chicago this fall.

Brian’s grandfather (and Henry’s great-grandfather), Mordecai Williams (1906-67), grew up in Shawnee and played saxophone at the Tecumseh Theater in the 1920s. He was also the captain of the basketball team, and played on the floor of the theater. Brian and Henry are happy to play music on the same stage, a century later.

Happy Memorial Day, Perry County 🇺🇸

This photo from the 1930s captures veterans marching in a Memorial Day celebration near Corning, and for us, it is a reminder of the deep history and community spirit that continues throughout Perry County today.

We had planned to attend the Memorial Day Parade in Shawnee, but flooded roads kept us from making it there. We hope everyone has a safe and meaningful holiday despite the cloudy weather!

We’d also love to welcome the community to our Tecumseh Theater Open House tomorrow, May 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the theater! Stop by to: tour our historic opera house ahead of our June 6 Grand (re)Opening, purchase tickets for “Live From Tuesday Creek” in person, hear about upcoming 2026 programming, and meet Director Melissa Wales and members of our team.

We can’t wait to open our doors again and celebrate this next chapter with the community that made it possible!
