Tomorrow begins one of our favorite events of the year - the East Tennessee Renaissance Festival! This year we will be debuting our new show, Trials of the Deep. Catch us Saturday on 12:30 and 3:30 and Sunday at 1:00 and 3:45 at our ship for a rousing good time! We hope to see you there, landlubber. ☠️

From Renaissance faires to library events, movie appearances to food festivals, we've had our share of many different and unique events.

Throughout it all, we are pleased to say that for all the public appearances we've been invited to, we have never had to charge extra for patrons to board our ship.

Why is this important?

We think that when you're already being charged admission to an event, you shouldn't have to pay a fee on top of that to enjoy other experiences at the venue.

You've already paid your fee to get in, so why be nickel-and-dimed for an experience?

We have been approached by large event venues in the area who have wanted us to pay for our services that way, and we have emphatically turned them down.
Because after being charged an admission fee (and possibly for parking), and then paying an additional fee to come aboard our ship, our patrons may not have any money left to support other small businesses at the event, like the vendors.

And so, this is our commitment to our community - any public event we go to, we offer our services free of charge to our patrons, because adventure shouldn't have a price tag. ☠️

Disclaimer: Our facepainters and balloon artists may charge for certain events to ensure they are compensated fairly, but rest assured, the ship will always be free for our public events.

We understand that event coordinators and parents will try to book with entertainment companies that will bring the greatest value for their money, which then begs the question:

Why us?

In addition to operatin' a one-of-a-kind ~30 ft. wooden pirate ship, we pride ourselves in creatin' a safe space for children to let their imagination set sail. Although we are pirates, we abide by certain codes of conduct, which means that although alcohol, swearing, ribaldry, and general misbehaving may be an adult's definition of a pirate, we steer clear of such misbehavin'.

Because while your children are at play, we want to ensure that they can be completely immersed AND safe.

What you can expect, however, is that each child will receive some form of treasure when they come aboard, use of our ship which includes swabbin' the deck, swordfightin', steerin', walkin' the plank (our slide) and use of our many exotic instruments collected from far and wide, and as many pictures with the ship as you would like.

Cap'n Percy and First Mate Roger will be thar to guide ye through whatever foul winds may come yer way, never fear!

Dependin' on the event, we may also offer treasure hunts, a facepainter, balloon twister, or even our very own mermaid to add some spice and sparkle to your adventures!

The Origin of the Party Pearl

Texas, 2016: I had just started my first job at a waterpark as a server/cashier. On the weekends, in between my duties I would wander around the waterpark as the swashbuckling "Percy the Piratess." I had never taken an acting or improv class, but there I was, attempting to convince anyone I met that I sailed the high seas with Blackbeard himself.

What surprised me the most was that most people believed me (or at least pretended to). I conjured a fake accent. I interacted with patrons like I was a stranded pirate. Handed out swords like I was trying to recruit a real crew.

Their reactions, their treatment of me made it real because I started to believe it myself.

From there, I dreamed of creating a character business dedicated to bringing laughter, joy, and an immersive experience to all. I had received a taste of what it was like to bring the magic of spontaneous entertainment to people and I wanted more.

Originally, I had imagined doing this with princesses (what can I say? I love some pink and glitter), but over the years it has become increasingly apparent that fully leaning into our origin is where we are meant to be.

Today, over ten years later, we are still just as dedicated to an immersive, family-friendly experience for both the young and the young at heart.

To this day, we are still asked, "Does your ship float?" "Did you build it yourself?" And even, "Who is the captain?"

We are almost never asked if we are real, and I like to think that is because our ship provides enough evidence for the young and curious mind.

Truly, the people who believe in us and our mission are the beating heart of our business, because without you, we would not exist.

And so to all those who have trusted us to provide quality entertainment, thank you. We look forward to serving you this year!

We've had more bookings requests this year than ever before - and while we're thrilled to offer a one-of-a-kind experience and we would love to offer our services to all those interested, the truth is piracy isn't our full-time occupation (as much as we wish it was!)

So, what does this mean for booking requests?

As soon as you know a date, please send us a text, an email, or reach out to us on our website! We are booked out a month in advance at all times with very limited flexibility on dates. Even if you aren't sure exactly what you want, reserve the date with us and we can discuss the details.

We would love to be there, but please allow us the time to create a memorable experience for you and all your guests.
