We're proud to spotlight Brea Schmidt as a featured speaker! An Iris-Award-nominated writer, keynote speaker, and the creative force behind The Thinking Branch, a 175,000-follower social media community built on real talk, vulnerability, and self-care advocacy.

Brea is known for her honest storytelling and her ability to connect people through the real and raw parts of life, caregiving, and entrepreneurship. As a sought-after keynote speaker, she partners with companies, ERGs, and conferences across the country on a continued mission to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health conversations in the workplace.

A former pro sports sales leadership executive turned entrepreneur, Brea launched The Thinking Branch in 2016 after starting her own photography business, driven by a desire to help women and mothers feel less alone. She has since become a mental health contributor to Pittsburgh Magazine's "BeWell" section, has written more than 50 articles for the popular contributor site Her View From Home, and was a two-year monthly panelist on CBS Pittsburgh's daily TV show "Talk Pittsburgh." She was also named one of Pittsburgh Magazine's "5 Must-Follow Influencers" in their "Best of the 'Burgh" issue.

Inspired by her experience raising three youth athletes, Brea launched a second social media community in April 2024, The Top Bleacher, a safe space for parents and coaches to reflect on their role in kids' youth sports experiences, with the goal of reducing toxicity and elevating mental well-being conversations in the youth sports environment.

Brea and her husband raise their three kids in Pittsburgh, PA.
