Since 2005, my husband, Richard, and I had been part of the wedding industry as photographers, capturing countless love stories through our lenses. Then, in 2018, while photographing a wedding, we encountered a bride who didn’t have a planner. As the day unfolded, I instinctively stepped in—coordinating vendors, managing the timeline, and making sure every detail was handled. Watching the event come together seamlessly, I realized that wedding planning was a natural extension of my skills. It felt just like logistics planning, but instead of medical supplies, I was orchestrating love stories. Weddings required adaptability, precise execution, and the ability to stay calm under pressure—all things I had mastered in the Air Force. I started planning more weddings, and with each one, it became clearer—this was what I was meant to do. With Richard’s unwavering support, I took a leap of faith and turned my passion into a full-time business in 2021. When it came time to name my company, I knew I wanted it to be meaningful. I thought of my late mother, who had always been my biggest supporter. She used to call me “Katy G,” short for Kathryn Geneva—a name filled with warmth and encouragement. In her honor, Katy Gee Consultants LLC was born. Richard didn’t hesitate to join me in this new adventure. With his incredible attention to detail and problem-solving skills, he became an essential part of the business, serving as a Coordinator Assistant at every event. Together, we make the perfect team—I lead with my strategic vision, and Richard ensures every element is flawlessly executed.
