A breakdown of the details behind the moments from our Disneyland Party!
✨ The confectionery kitchen was so fun to put together! A couple dollar store poster boards transformed this space, a “menu” was an easy solution to cover up the backside of the kitchen and an “awning” tied the whole look together. My favorite part, the wood cookies, made out of wood coasters, acrylic paint and covered in shellac.
✨ I wanted stand up Disney figures to feel more like an authentic Disneyland. I looked into cardboard standup figures which ranged around $30-$50. Then I looked into wall decals which were $10 a figure. And landed on making them my own which cost $1.50 a figure. I found a picture of each character. Blew them up several times and essentially pieced it together like a puzzle. I put a thin poster board backing on the entire character and then added a foam poster board to be able to stand them up.
✨The cake toppers were all dollar store, even the cute gold 2 balloon, which are the perfect size for a personalized cake.
✨The water bottles were such an easy diy and in the end well worth it. I just made some water bottle labels on canva and wrapped them around the bottles with a little bit of glue.
✨I really wanted Candon to have an authentic Disneyland hat, but for around $30 it was a no go. So I found a similar style costume hat for $6. He kept it on the whole party and it was such a sweet detail.
✨Our matching outfits 🥹 Originally I really wanted us to have matching t shirts, then it evolved into him having a Mickey button up shirt and landed on a family diy matching look. I covered my ears in a mickey fabric, hot glued sprinkles around the perimeter and added a bow. My mom (🥹) made Candon’s bow tie, suspenders and Kyle’s tie out of the same material. Which we will repurpose for an Easter look 😅
✨The Mickey and Minnie ears were a hit! It made the day just feel a little more whimsical and fun. For a pack of 20 was $15 which I used scraps of fabric to individualize in addition.
✨Dollar store plate and two bowls made the Mickey charcuterie plate and a little elbow grease from my hubby and a cookie cutter to add the finishing touches.
