This is a devastating reality for many of us venue owners here in Skagit County. Event venues of all kinds are not just about celebrations — they fuel our local economy. Every wedding, every community gathering brings people who stay at hotels, eat at restaurants, shop at local stores, and hire local vendors for flowers, catering, music, photography, and more.

If venues are forced to close, it’s not just us who are at risk — it’s every one of you who is part of that ecosystem. The ripple effect reaches across businesses, jobs, and livelihoods throughout Skagit.

Right now, it feels like something very sinister is happening — small, family-run places like ours feel like we have no real voice or choice. And yet, our work is woven deeply into the success of this valley.
