Wild thimbleberries + trailing blackberries = berry sourdough bagels 🥯🤌

Summer foraging on the property is one of the simple joys of staying here. During berry season, any of our friends or guests are welcome to borrow a little bucket, and we'll point you in the right direction depending on whats ripe ⬅️➡️

We love some time in Seattle, but always grateful to come back to our cozy corner of Skagit.

As a reminder, pride month is every month here. 🏳️‍🌈

Our hope is that everyone who visits A&K Alder Farm feels safe, welcomed, and free to be themselves—a place to reconnect with nature, build community, and find joy.

Happy Pride from Jess and Kate 💚

Cherry season is short, so when the trees are ready, it's time to start picking.

This batch became pie 😋 🍒 🥧

This grove has become a favorite hangout for our chickens, wild birds, and guests alike. The birdsong in here is incredible. 🐦

🌿 First time processing bamboo shoots!

We like to keep the paths clear in our little bamboo forest, which means occasionally stepping on what we lovingly call "death spikes."

This time, we peeled, chopped, boiled, and brined the shoots to preserve them for later.

Looking forward to seeing how they turn out. 🌱
