A Sedona wedding is about more than the red rocks.

It's the thoughtfully chosen florals. The colors that complement the landscape instead of competing with it. The carefully placed details. The little touches that make the day feel unmistakably yours.

That's the beauty of a micro wedding. Every element has a purpose. Every detail gets the attention it deserves. Nothing feels rushed, overlooked, or "small."

At Sedona Wedding Packages, we thoughtfully design each celebration from the big picture down to the finishing touches, creating a wedding that's every bit as unforgettable as the landscape surrounding it. ❤️

The stars have aligned for an August Sedona visit. 🌠
The 2026 Perseid meteor shower is already underway, but the best is yet to come.
Peak viewing arrives overnight August 12 into August 13, and thanks to a perfectly timed new moon, this year’s viewing conditions couldn’t be much better. Under clear skies, you could see 50 to 100 meteors an hour with nothing more than your own eyes.
While Sedona is famous for its towering red rocks and breathtaking sunsets, don’t overlook what happens after dark. With minimal light pollution just outside town, the night sky comes alive and offers some incredible opportunities to experience one of nature’s greatest shows.
We’ve rounded up the best Dark Sky locations near Sedona, along with tips for making the most of the Perseid meteor shower. Check out the blog through the link in our bio.
And if that August getaway becomes the perfect time to say “I do,” we’d love to help you create a wedding that’s just as unforgettable as the destination. ✨

A look at Jenga Rock above the Pocket Fire at the Edge of the World from the Mogollon Rim.

Thanks to Coconino National Forest and REMS 4, Pine-Strawberry Fire District, AZ for sharing this look from a place we all love.

Sedona is open, and our hearts are with all the fire crews working fiercely to protect the communities, land, and wildlife of Red Rock Country and Northern Arizona.

We’re getting a lot of questions about Sedona’s air quality. And that’s a legitimate concern.

It’s not just something to think about if you’re especially sensitive to smoke. There are times when air quality can reach levels that aren’t considered healthy for anyone.

The good news is that it’s not constant.

Smoke conditions can change throughout the day as the wind shifts. One area may have clear skies while another is smoky, and conditions can improve or worsen in just a few hours. Smoke also tends to settle closer to the ground overnight before improving again as the day warms up.

That’s why we want to give you the resources to check current conditions before you head out, whether you’re coming for a wedding, a hike, or a weekend getaway.

One of Sedona’s greatest paradoxes is that it’s beauty can also be its beast, especially when it comes to fighting fires like the Pocket Fire.

Alex Schlueter, Red Rock Ranger District Ranger for Coconino County National Forest, said at a community meeting Thursday night, “What makes this place special, what makes Northern Arizona Magnificent.. is why firefighting here is incredibly difficult. The red rocks, the steeps canyons, all those slopes are why we can’t put firefighters in there safely.”

We know fire officials keep saying this fire will be “on the landscape for a while” because of those challenges it’s worth noting that Sedona and the surrounding communities outside of Oak Creek Canyon are open. The scenic drive will stay closed at least through the holiday weekend, according to officials.

However, trails and access points still available near Sedona and away from the fire include:

✅Cathedral Rock
✅Bell Rock
✅Chapel of the Cross
✅Merry Go Round Rock
✅Airport Mesa
✅Red Rock State Park

The biggest concern for anyone visiting Sedona or Flagstaff in early July is the rapidly changing air quality conditions. It might be clear skies one hour and thick smoke the next. You can always check the latest air quality report and forecast to plan your trip.

We’re here to help if you need assistance with a wedding relocation, special event pivot, or just have general questions about what is going on in Sedona right now. We also have a guide on our blog with all the official sources of information to help you along the way.
