As a mother and a wedding / event florist - I always say 2 things… stay in budget and a core source of the memories you have are the photographs! Flowers are so important to your memories. Details matter. Trust me to create magic with your budget using in-season and foraged florals! These photos are from our youngest daughter’s wedding. The photographers .co are amazing! The event was 11 years ago and it is as fresh and beautiful as yesterday! The wedding ceremony was at McGowan St Mary’s - and reception here at our home in Seaview. Steps from the beach. Yes we did get a tent rental - it was a June wedding and we were so blessed to have an amazing weather day!

Today, I was honored to do some filming with Kenneth Johnson CEO of Wahkiakum West who is creating shows about our local community. He visited with me at (Sea Resources) discussing a bit about the vast history of our hatchery - site of the oldest salmon hatchery in Washington State (and the entire west coast!). We discussed a bit about the history of the vocational training provided to local students learning about the fishing industry - and what is happening now going forward to navigate our nonprofit thru changes in education, salmon propagation, botanical/ agricultural production of native species plants, trout AND how helpful the has been for helping us reach our donors, look to the future of philanthropy in our community and network with other local nonprofits. The Pacific Community Foundation is vital in our efforts to continue the salmon legacy of our local community. Our focus is on Salmon- Habitat- Aquaculture- Research- Education - AND returning a robust salmon population here at the mouth of the Columbia River and Pacific Ocean! Ken is so easy to work with and his team makes you feel very comfortable. It was a delightful afternoon - followed by showing some tourists around our facility. If you would like to get involved - please let me know. We can use more volunteers. Covid Hit us hard - we are a nonprofit and would welcome your support!
