Fueled by founder Charles Lewis Tiffany’s passion for acquiring rare, never-before-seen colored gemstones, the House began offering jewelry with the then newly discovered kunzite in 1904. It remains a highly sought after gemstone to this day. This magnificent pendant—designed by Paloma Picasso—is suspended from lustrous pearls and captures the dramatic hue of this incredible legacy gemstone—one of the four unique gemstones Tiffany introduced to the world.

A masterful stroke of design and engineering, this faceted 18k gold box from The Tiffany Archives showcases a 300-carat kunzite. The impressive kunzite pictured here is a fine example of the gemstone, which Tiffany discovered in 1902 and named for then Chief Gemologist Dr. George F. Kunz. Echoing the House’s heritage of transforming rare materials into works of art, each angle, hinge and panel reflects the ingenuity of Tiffany & Co. artisans.
