🚨 WEDDING VENDORS — PLEASE WATCH THIS.
We personally know vendors who have been affected by this scam.
It can start with an innocent-looking email that appears to come from another vendor asking you to check a contract, timeline, or other document with a link.
Once an email account is compromised, scammers can impersonate that vendor and contact THEIR CLIENTS asking for remaining balances — but redirecting those payments to fraudulent accounts.
And because the emails are coming from an account that looks almost like the vendors email and reference real contracts/clients, they can look incredibly convincing.
Please be suspicious of unexpected links, even when they appear to come from someone you know. And if a vendor suddenly asks you to change how or where you send payment, verify it with them another way before sending anything.
The scammers are taking payments through wire transfers.
