We are starting the Stan Sayres Boat Ramp Replacement Project next to Mt. Baker Rowing and Sailing Center. Construction on the north ramp begins Tuesday, September 8 and will be finished by mid-October 2026.

While Stan Sayres is closed, motorized boats can be launched nearby at Magnuson, Sunnyside, or Atlantic City Boat Ramps.

Limited parking will be open for Mt Baker Rowing and Sailing Center thru mid-October. Additional work will occur in 2027.

It's almost time to celebrate the 4th of July! Seattle Parks and Recreation facilities will operate on modified schedules on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4. While some recreation facilities will be closed, many parks, outdoor pools, lifeguarded beaches, sprayparks, wading pools, and other amenities will remain open.

Temperatures may be heating up, but our waters are still cold! ☀️

Whether you're visiting King County for the FIFA World Cup or enjoying a local beach this summer, remember that lakes, rivers, and ocean waters can remain dangerously cold even on warm, sunny days. Cold water shock can occur when water temperatures are below 70°F (21°C), causing involuntary gasping, loss of muscle control, and increasing the risk of drowning.

Stay safe around water and follow essential tips from Public Health - Seattle & King County: wear a life jacket, supervise kids closely, and choose safer places to swim.
