Who gets an invite to your wedding? Here are some questions to help decide.

1) Have you talked to this person in the past year?

2) Has your partner met them?

3) Would they reciprocate the invite to their wedding?

4) Would you take them out to $150 dinner and pay for it?

5) For co-workers, do you spend time with them outside of work?

6) Can you imagine your wedding day without them?

Did you notice I didn’t mention anything about how the person would feel about not getting invited? There will always be emotions, obligations and guilt around invites.

Make a decision and hold strong. This is your wedding, your money and your energy!

I only go to a few wedding shows each year, so now is your chance to come out and say hi and chat in person!

I love the Emerald Hour Wedding show because it’s filled with other value-based vendors who do amazing work! There are florists, planners, caterers, and more. If you are looking to fill out your vendor team, this is the place to be!

We’ll have food and drinks, educational talks, and a scavenger hunt.

Goodness, looking through these summer photos while we are in the winter doldrums is bringing some much needed warmth and light.

G+E brought their whole selves and personalities into this wedding. Truly the embodiment of intentional.

E dabbles in cartoon art so all signage, invites and tables numbers were drawn and created by him.
They wanted ping pong at the reception so they brought their own table.
G worked at Top Pot back in the day, so a donut tower was essential for their dessert.
G’s Grandma sewed the napkins and an aunt arranged the flowers like she has done at all of the cousins weddings.
Several friends serenaded them during the ceremony, reception and first dance.
And at the end of the night they gave away their bud vases and flowers to the guests and staff.

This celebration was overflowing with joy, color, and community.

A rainy spring day for R + N. While they didn’t get the outdoor ceremony that they wanted, their cosy indoor celebration was so full of life and love.

Even though I plan out the timelines and execute it, I often don’t know what surprises will happen on the day. So while there was a time slot for the “father/daughter violin duet” and the “family singalong” I still got caught speechless by the talent and creativity of R + N and their loved ones.

July and August photo dump to share what I’ve been up to!

It’s been a very busy summer, so I haven’t posted much. I snuck in a few personal trips and vacations to soak up the fleeting summer sun while I could.

1-3: Wedding at UW Center for Urban Horticulture - tons of color!
4: A book launch and wellness fair - yoga, chair massages and fruit popsicles!
5: My family’s annual camping trip with all the aunts, uncles and cousins
6-8: Reception at the beautiful Dancing Fish Vineyards on Whidbey Island
9-10: Sadie Lakes Wedding - Classic black and white
11: I used to play a lot of golf but these days it’s only once a year now. My swing still hold up!
12-15: Micro-wedding at Mt Baker
16-17: a recent backpacking trip with my husband. It was good to get out into the woods and reset and refresh before I dive into my busy September!

From our family to yours. Wishing you a Merry Christmas. May your day be merry and bright! 🎄
