Hearts and Hands Help Those Most in Need by Aaron Crosetto x Path with Art

Aaron believes in the healing power of art and the universal language it provides for people to connect, empathize, and value each other.

“People experiencing homelessness wake up asking themselves, ‘how am I going to survive this day?’ But when those stressors get removed, they can begin to feel stronger…I used the image of the heart-in-hand, which is a symbol of charity given from the heart. The fingerprint conveys identity and is also tied to the cycle of incarceration that often leads to homelessness…The highest form of work in society, I believe, is teamwork and collaboration – a community that takes care of each other.”

Guitar by B. x Path with Art

“I am not defined by my history of homelessness. I am defined by my present – creating art.” B. believes that creating art has the power to change perceptions, and is an essential tool for self-expression, especially for those who have experienced trauma.

“I came up with the image of people using music to help themselves and I saw the guitar as a ladder…I wanted the people to be red to reflect the stress and crises that I, and many others, have experienced. I made the background color a sunrise, the point being: change is coming. Because you’ve got to have even the tiniest bit of hope, or you won't make it.”
