Ever since I was a little girl, Iāve loved animals. They were the first thing I can remember truly being passionate about. I was always stopping to pet a dog, gawking at the fish at the Kemah Aquarium, and begging my mom to let me take home a hamster from the pet store. As soon as I was old enough to hold a crayon, I discovered a love for art too. Painting, drawing, pastelsāyou name it. I loved taking the images in my head and bringing them to life on paper.
As I got older, photography became another passion. In middle school, I found my dadās old SONY camera and a canister of film, and it quickly became my newest obsession. In college, I started taking graduation photos for friends, then eventually began charging for senior sessions on campus. Not long after, I opened an official photography business and used it as supplemental income during graduation season.
After college, I began teaching high school agriculture classes, including Floral Design, and just like that, I found yet another passion. For a long time, I felt like I had too many interests. I often thought about the saying, āA jack of all trades is a master of none.ā But recently, I learned the full quote: āA jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.ā That changed things for me.
After teaching Floral Design for the past seven years, I decided it was time to create something that combined all of my passions in one place. Thatās how Wildflower & Wren was born. I dissolved Kaylee Marie Photography, and now Iām offering photography alongside floral design, event planning, digital design, and a t-shirt line (for now).
This business is the heart of everything I loveāart, creativity, storytelling, and bringing beautiful ideas to life. Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me throughout my entrepreneurial journey.
