Hi! I’m looking to speak with 3–5 people who are currently planning a wedding without a full-service planner.

I’m doing some research because I want to better understand what this part of planning actually feels like right now — what’s been confusing, stressful, or just harder than you expected.

This is a 20-minute chat (not a sales call at all), and I’ll send a small thank-you gift for your time 🤍

If you’re currently in the middle of planning—or just getting started—DM me “I’m in.”

And if someone comes to mind who’s planning right now, feel free to send this to them. It would genuinely help me out.

Thank you, Jennifer Starr

One of the most important things a couple should feel during wedding planning is supported.

Not controlled.
Not overwhelmed.
Not alone.

A great planner doesn’t step in and make the wedding about themselves. They come alongside you, help guide you through the process, offer clarity when things feel uncertain, and help carry the weight of the decisions that come with planning such an important day.

As April shared on this week’s episode #31 of "More Than Just a Wedding":

“I’m not here to make your wedding mine… I really come alongside you and I link arms with you.”

That’s the heart behind what we do at J.Starr Wedding Company.

You’re not just hiring someone to manage timelines.
You’re gaining a partner with experience, perspective, structure, and support — someone committed to helping you get to the finish line feeling confident, cared for, and fully present in the process.

Last night, our Lead Team had the opportunity to attend the Arizona Bride Gala.

We spent the day getting glammed up by one of the longest-standing supporters of J. Starr Wedding Company, the incredibly talented Linda Valenzuela and her amazing team, before celebrating an industry we all care so deeply about.

At one point during the evening, I looked around and was reminded once again, that this company is no longer just me. It’s stronger, wiser, more creative, and more impactful because of these incredible women beside me every day.

Women who believe in the vision. Who believe in exceptional service. Who care deeply for our clients. Who support one another. And somehow still believe in me as the driver of this crazy train. 🤍

While we may not have brought home an award last night, I walked away feeling incredibly proud of the team and culture we’ve built together… because they are the real award in my life and in this company every single day.

Endlessly grateful. Love you girls.

Big Thank you to *all* of the event sponsors who poured themselves into last night. That was truly something incredible.

There’s a moment in nearly every planning journey where everything shifts.

The stress starts to lift. The noise quiets. And what felt overwhelming suddenly feels possible again.

That’s the work most people don’t see.

It’s not just timelines, logistics, or checklists. It’s helping couples feel supported enough to be present again. To breathe again. To actually enjoy the season they’re in instead of carrying it alone.

Because at the end of the day, success isn’t about how perfectly everything was planned.

It’s about whether they were able to live it.

And whether they can look back and say: that was the best day ever.

Today's podcast is features: Lead Planner: April, and she shares such beautiful insights about what the process is to work with her directly.

"Melika & Manti’s wedding day was a true reflection of who they are—intentional, deeply rooted in love, and
effortlessly beautiful. Every detail felt personal, woven together with meaningful cultural elements that
honored their story in a way that was both authentic and elevated. It wasn’t just a celebration—it was an
experience that felt entirely their own.

Their ceremony in the Allegria Garden was heartfelt and serene, setting the tone for everything that
followed. Dinner in the orange grove was pure magic—warm, inviting, and filled with laughter. And once the
music started, the dance floor stayed packed all night long. The entire day felt easy, joyful, and so genuinely
them—the kind of celebration you never want to end." ~Planner, Alicia

A save the date is never just a save the date.

It’s the very first emotional touchpoint of your wedding.

I was talking on the podcast about when No Doubt announced their reunion at the Sphere in Vegas. The Sphere lit up like an orange — and instantly, longtime fans understood the reference to Tragic Kingdom. No explanation needed.

That’s the power of intentional storytelling.

The smallest visual cue can create anticipation, emotion, nostalgia, excitement.

Your wedding can do the exact same thing.

Before guests ever walk into your ceremony or reception, they’re already forming a feeling about the experience through the details you choose to share — your save the date, your website, your design, your imagery, your wording.

It all starts telling the story before the wedding day even arrives.

'We worked with Alicia for our wedding and couldn't have been happier with her service, attention to detail, and support during the entire process. She made us feel like she had us completely covered so we could just focus on getting married and every little detail came together beautifully. I felt so incredibly comfortable on my wedding day knowing that Alicia and her team were taking care of everything. She is also the kindest person in the world to work with. She's exactly what you want in a wedding planner - calm but detail oriented." ~Annie (Bride)

Yes to timelines, budgets, and logistics—but don’t forget the artistry.
What lights you up as a couple? What feels nostalgic? That’s where the magic is.

"Serena and Heath’s wedding at Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club was absolutely beautiful.

The weather was perfect, and the mountain backdrop was as breathtaking as ever. Serena looked stunning in her dress, and Heath was so handsome — together they made such a striking couple. Their ceremony, officiated by Heath’s uncle, was heartfelt and personal, featuring a sand-pouring ritual that symbolized their unity.

Guests were welcomed with a gorgeous mirrored aisle and sweeping views that perfectly captured the romance of the day. Following the ceremony, everyone enjoyed cocktail hour with a fun photo booth and lawn games before heading to dinner beneath the glow of bistro lights. The buffet was delicious, and dessert featured elegant cakes from a French bakery that guests couldn’t stop talking about.

The evening continued with meaningful toasts, joyful dancing, and an undeniable feeling of love all around. It was a truly special celebration for an incredible couple." 🤍

Seven years.
Eighty-six weddings.
Countless memories, milestones, timelines, happy tears, problem-solving moments, and celebrations.

In this episode, Alicia and I reflect on what it really looks like to grow a wedding planning company while still holding tight to the values that matter most: trust, teamwork, and creating an experience that feels personal from start to finish.

One of the greatest honors of this work is building not just beautiful events, but a team that truly feels like family.

This conversation meant so much to me, and I can’t wait for you to hear it on the "More Than Just a Wedding" Podcast.
