Happy Valentine’s Day!

This is one of the most popular days of the year to propose, for obvious reasons! Since pets are such important members of the family, many people choose to include them in their marriage proposals. This orange tabby would look purrrr-fect with a diamond dangling from her neck! (She’s actually my cat, Triscuit 😻)

Should you propose on Valentine’s Day?

There are pluses and minuses. As a proposal planner, I see more drawbacks to proposing on that exact day than benefits.

- If you have discussed getting engaged, your partner will expect it on Valentine’s Day. You lose the element of surprise.
- Venues will be more expensive and booked months in advance.
- Every woman who sees it happen will resent her man for the rest of the night 😂

Instead, plan your proposal during the week of Valentine’s Day. Most venues will have availability, your partner will be caught off-guard and they will be able to spend the holiday showing off the ring instead of impatiently waiting for you to give it!

There’s something magical about a winter proposal… The way the snow glitters like diamonds, the bracing fresh air clearing away everything except that moment, that breath. We set this proposal mood board in Flagstaff (fun fact: it’s the 3rd snowiest city in the country!) where there are stunning views, sugar-frosted trees and lots of wide open spaces to make their dreams come true. A cozy picnic complete with hot cocoa, a candlelit path, tonal winter floral arrangements, white marquee letters spelling out your desire… even a snowflake setting on the engagement ring of their dreams!
