Making Money With Small Events.

Here's the quick summary. You will first host a one-day event with no less than 20 people. Then you want to entice as many of them as you can to attend your full weekend mastermind. There you will provide them an incredible experience, mind-blowing training, and an opportunity to join you all year as their coach. I've seen coaches close 40% of the room, and I've seen coaches close 95% of the room. It all depends on how well you serve your clients and how well you deliver your offer at the event.

“Your event has to have a unique solution that your clients can't get anywhere else” - Chad Thibodeuax

One of our clients, Chad Thibodeaux , hosts an event called Launch It Live, for example. His unique solution is in the name and promise statement. "Come with nothing, leave with everything. When you leave the event, your entire business will be launched!" Chad has gone on to host events like "High Ticket Mastery" and "Small Event Big Profit," where he breaks down exactly how to launch an event and profit six figures in a weekend. You can watch the Video Sales Letters we create for these events below to learn more.

Crafting your one-day Mastermind.

We want to focus on our customer's journey and solve our client's problems one step at a time. Beginning with a one-day event, you can foster new relationships and add tons of value for them without adding too much pressure or promise too many results. The best way to do this is a one-day mastermind. Your goal is to provide this event at-cost to fill the room while breaking even or spending only a tiny amount of money.

The one-day Mastermind should be filled with tons of excellent training and end with an invitation to attend the main mastermind event between 2-5 days long where you can help them solve their problems or pain-points in more depth. Be sure the name and mission for the one-day event will qualify the attendees for the main event. It would help if you made sure these are people who you know will need to attend the full Mastermind and who will require your over-all coaching program for long-term results. For example, if you do a one-day mastermind on how to scale your t-shirt business, you can't then pitch everyone to the main Mastermind where you'll teach them "how to grow their business using Linkedin." You will not have the right audience at your one-day event. Instead, your one-day event should attract people struggling with something specific to Linkedin.

You must solve only one problem at your event!

When you solve one problem at your event, you can narrow your focus on the audience and charge more money. The goal is to take your clients from a one-day event to the main event and ultimately sell them into your inner circle or high ticket program. Each must solve a particular problem. If you don't know which problem you solve, you will not know who to market the one-day event to.

There are many strategies and ways to add tons of value for your clients along the way, even if they don't join your high ticket program. The main goal is to build great relationships, add tons of value, and record great testimonials each step of the way. Each event you do will get better and better, and maybe next week, I'll write an article on how to price your events, set up the scheduling, and build the marketing assets. If you have any questions that are Mastermind related, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Social Games can be an effective way of starting a training session or team-building event. By providing an interactive and fun session before the important meetings or trainings, it can help people get to know each other and fall into the moment. This also helps you as the host set the energy levels for the group and create a safe environment for everyone to remain playful and optimistic. Choose the games wisely and try to bring the attendees into a state of play as soon as possible. Studies show this is the best way to learn and retain new information. The more straight to the point the rules are, the easier the guests can engage with one another. This may seem childish or unprofessional, but planning one game before-hand can break through emotional barriers and help the group relax into their authentic selves. In hind-site, you will see how this can exponentially increase the value of future interactions and time spent together.

Creating many marketing assets from a single Mastermind event.

If you're going to hire any photographers or videographers to film your event, be sure to dm me to download the free template to give to any photography and videography crew. We designed our template to help you manage anyone you hire to do your filming and includes a list of deliverables and guidance on setting up and shooting each type of marketing asset with examples, so they know exactly what to shoot and how! You can easily send this to your camera crew and ask them to deliver each piece fully edited to you after the event. This template will help you optimize the video crew's time and get you the most content possible from your event.

Video Sales Letter

Be sure to write a script to sell your next event or let everyone know your event's goal. The idea is that you are prepared with a script and on the first day of the event at the location before everyone shows up you set up and shoot a talking head shot. This will be the main audio and A-roll to overlay with B-roll and awesome supporting footage from the event.

Testimonials

These should be taken during breaks when guests seem to have high energy and even when two people are having fun. Ask engaging questions and pull out the experience the guests are having. Try your best to catch them in the moment, and if the event schedule is packed, be sure to set time towards the end to get a testimonial from each person. Asking for specific results are great, especially when they're financial. Another great testimonial question is finding out what they initially thought of you and what made them overcome that internal objection. Overcoming objections testimonials are some of the most effective testimonials to capture. If you want to learn more about capturing incredible testimonials, be sure to dm me for our free guide.

Credibility Portraits

Nothing says "I'm credible," like photos of you speaking on stage or in front of a small group of people. Bring your group together for a photoshoot and have each person present in front of the mastermind. These are super quick but useful marketing assets that are very difficult to capture without good planning. They look fantastic, and your clients will use them for their marketing over and over again. It's a tremendous value add for our client's guests, and sometimes our coaches charge extra to have them done, so keep these in mind as a potential upsell as well.

Professional or Lifestyle Portraits.

These photos also add immense value for guests. Having a professional photographer at your mastermind and giving everyone beautiful portraits to go home with is such a benefit in the content age! Set some time aside in the schedule. A great trick is to have your photos and testimonials running simultaneously so you can capture your guests on video when their hair and make-up's done and ready for the camera! That's when the guests will be the most prepped. We like to bring a hair and make-up artist to our events and prep each person to look their best.

Training Courses

We set up and shoot full online courses from their material for our coaches who deliver training during their masterminds. This footage creates a ton of content to be chopped and repurposed. If you have a content managing and editing/distribution team like from contentdreamteam.com, this can give them months worth of content from a single mastermind. You can also build a membership portal and sell access to your training course or run ads using the best clips.

Live Videos

Be sure to capture live videos during exciting times at your event and build the hype to give everyone from your community FOMO so they never miss another one of your events ever again!

B-roll and Drone Footage

B-roll is a film term for supportive footage like close-ups of someone clapping, out-of-focus flares of light with the audience in them, and other dynamic shots that can help make your video sales letters more engaging and cinematic. Be sure to capture tons and tons of b-roll and get as much excellent drone footage of the locations, outings, or adventures you take your group on.

Scripts

Before your event, be sure you have a couple of scripts prepped beforehand. Not only for you but prep the questions for your videographer and help guide them by letting them know which people may have the best stories to share or great testimonials within them. You know who benefitted the most from your coaching so let the world know what they're missing out on by writing reliable sales scripts and testimonial questions. I write the scripts with my coaches and ask about each guest to pull the best testimonials. For more details, be sure to ask for our guide, and we'll do everything we can to help you get the results you're looking for from your next mastermind!

03/09/2021

Being the oldest child of a first-generation immigrant can be lonely. I never liked to play alone but quickly learned there is no way around it for me. It was hard to make genuine connections with the people around me because I always felt foreign and knew it was true. It's challenging to feel a sense of belonging when you still are and always will be "an outsider." I was born and raised in Aurora, Illinois, where no one knew what a Lebanese person was. I was Mexican to everyone who wasn't Mexican, and most of the people I hung out with were Mexican. I couldn't be Mexican, though, and it showed because my name was too tough to pronounce for my friend's parents. Some nicknamed me Aladdin, and I liked that a lot. My favorite time was at ASU, where someone introduced me to a friend and said I was Le***an.

Back in the motherland, I'm "the American." I like this identity the most because, as "the American," I could get away with almost everything. I used to get into trouble and look at people like, WHAT? I'm American. Then everyone would relax because they would assume all Americans did that. I rock this identity to the fullest and milk it, but it always feels short-lived.

By never settling on a specific identity for myself, it kept me curious. It made me explore and helped cultivate my curiosity to learn and understand other human beings more deeply. What did all of us want? What makes us human? After a long travel expedition, I remember my Dad telling me something I'll never forget. I had just gotten back from a year-long trip after quitting my job. I traveled across many states and countries like Thailand, Hungary, and Colombia. We were at Denny's late at night, and after telling him about my journey and the beautiful individuals I met, he looked me in the eyes and said, the one thing I know is, "all people have something to be proud of". This, to me, is the essence of humanity. Regardless of our mistakes or character flaws, we all have something to be proud of. When we unite and cultivate healthy relationships, we lean on each others strengths. This is what a mastermind is all about, the crew's mutual success. This idea is what sparked the mission of our company, The Mastermind Crew.

"The best definition of success which I know is this. It's the knowledge with which to get whatever you want from life without violating the rights of others, and by helping others to acquire it." Napolean Hill explains that the laws of success are definite and as certain as math. He also claimed that masterminds are vital for reaching the highest levels of achievement.
"Success in the higher bracket of achievement is something that can be had only by taking others along with you."

My adventures and confusion around my identity helped drive a purpose and created a clear vision for our company. I've formed many groups of diverse friends over the years, and as much as I love being a part of so many clicks, my real sense of belonging comes from one place outside of family. It comes from the mastermind alliances I've formed with those who share a similar vision for our future. No words can express my appreciation to you. I am blessed to work and play alongside you and am excited to see where our journey leads. Forever grateful to you, Samar Aridi and Randy Sleem

How To Crush Sales & Informational Videos

Not all of us are comfortable getting on camera. Hire any online coach, and eventually, they're going to request video content from you. Whether it's a sales video, a webinar, or even an announcement to your network, there's no avoiding getting on camera anymore. I've filmed hundreds of new marketers and the one thing that remains constant is each of us is only one type of camera personality. We each have a preferred way to deliver or speak on camera. Inexperienced coaches may tell you to jump on camera and do what it takes to get your videos done. They are right, in a way, because eventually you'll find what works for you. But wouldn't you rather do what works for you from the beginning and avoid the hours of stomach pain and awkwardness. The technique can be important, but understanding yourself can take you 80 percent of the way there. Here are the three personalities and how to set yourself up for success in front of the camera. If you can't determine which one will work for you, try all three approaches, and you'll feel it instantly. It should click right away and if not, look out for which one makes you cringe less on the playback.

First, I'd like to cover some shooting and editing tips that apply to all personalities. Be extra careful not to flip your hair or change your placement when you mess up or start a new take. Place a mark on the floor in front of you and try not to sway while you speak. The best way to make cuts when shooting yourself with a single camera is to crop in and out on each screw-up. So you'll have one shot that's a medium close-up, cut to a normal close-up, and then back to the medium close-up. That way, even if you shift from side to side a bit or mess up somewhere, it will flow well in the edit and won't look choppy. Before starting, take a couple of practice takes and then relax a bit. You'll find your delivery gets better and better with each take. As long as there's improvement, don't settle! Sometimes you'll feel like the second take is excellent, but don't stop. Take some extra "just in case" takes, and you may surprise yourself. Now onto the personalities.

The 1st Personality, The Bill O’Reilly
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwxEM6b3jrk

If you're anything like Bill, you hate complicated scripts and teleprompters. This personality loves to flow off the top and is typically quick-witted in conversation. If you attempt to read a script, it may not sound the way you'd like. You'll feel it's difficult to maintain energy and enthusiasm while reading. You'll find your delivery is jumpy, and you won't get into a good flow or rhythm. There's nothing wrong with you. It's the bloody script that's the problem! When it comes to sales scripts, we like to think that it's better to memorize or read the exact offer and hook as the pros do. I know you want to read the marketing or sales copy as it's written, but if it screws up your natural cadence, it can destroy your authenticity. Regardless of what you say, no one will trust you. Some of you may be thinking, okay, fine. I'll memorize the script and deliver it perfectly! WRONG. If a Bill O'Reilly personality attempts to memorize and say something written from someone else's voice, they'll get torn apart. The solution is easier than you think.

All you have to do is place your speaking points in large font directly behind the camera somewhere. You only need the outline to make sure you do not forget something. You can look down at a notebook and cut the video in post as well. The goal is to feel confident and let it out like you're talking to a girlfriend about something exciting. It's okay if you mess up, let the mistakes out and resay the full line again if you catch yourself stuttering or forgetting what to say.

The 2nd Personality, The Rory Gilmore

The Rory Gilmore is an introvert who is softer spoken but reads quick and well. Even if you don't identify with this personality, you may still be the type that loves to use a teleprompter. Knowing exactly what to say and when to say it will relieve your nerves and make it so much easier for you to shoot your videos. Even memorizing your lines isn't as good as a teleprompter because if you're anything like the Rory's I've shot, you'll be stuck in your head trying to recall the script instead of focusing on your delivery. As soon as you work with a teleprompter, you will shine and feel an instant release of energy, and a star will be born! If you're not tech savvy, don't worry at all. New, user-friendly apps and simple setup teleprompters have made this more straightforward than ever before. If you find yourself struggling with any teleprompters, don't hesitate to reach out and ask me. I'll hook you up with the perfect setup for you! If the other two methods don't work for you, be sure to give teleprompters a try. I've seen the most nervous and sweaty people switch it on instantly with the words scrolling by on the screen in front of them.

Here are some additional tips for teleprompting. Be sure to write in your voice and immediately change anything that doesn't feel right. Try reading it out loud as you're writing. This way, you can confirm each line flows smoothly and rephrase any lines you have to say multiple times to get right. One of the most crucial technical aspects you must get right with a teleprompter is the speed. It must match the rate at which you speak because if it's too fast or too slow, it will not feel genuine to the audience. Remember to enunciate your words well if you're a fast talker and resay any messed up lines immediately without moving. Some apps can listen and move the words as you read them, but I haven't found a good one yet, so I set the teleprompter app to my natural speed and put extra spacing between the lines where I'ts too fast. Try it a few times, and you'll quickly find what works best for you.

The 3rd Personality - The Diamond

Pressure makes diamonds. The final personality is the rarest of the three, but it exists amongst many teachers and content creators. If you try both of the above and nothing seems to work for you, it most likely means you're a diamond. A diamond doesn't like knowing there are more chances to shoot better. Just knowing there are multiple chances ruins almost every take for a diamond. From the moment they hit record, all they're thinking about is what's NOT working. Being stuck in their heads, they can never deliver what they want to say the right way because of either perfectionism and overthinking. You're going to resist the solution at first but once you realize you're a diamond there's no turning back. You're going to make amazing videos consistently, all in one take because that's all you're going to give yourself. You're going to record all of your videos LIVE! That's right; you have one chance! One of my favorite coaches, Chad Thibodeaux is a diamond, and you won't believe how many times we've tried shooting courses just to stream the entire thing live to a private group and then pulling out the footage in post for the final courses. Once diamonds build the courage to go live, there's nothing that can stop them. They will have tons of content to distribute and repurpose. For a diamond, I recommend they hire a fantastic editing team for distribution like from contentdreamteam.com . Publishing to the masses will be fun, and easy for you. The best part is you'll outperform every other personality if you build your content team!
