Dance friends, please pray for Crystal Johnson, Billy's sister, and her family. She was involved in a bad accident on interstate 65 Sunday. She is not doing well and is in surgery right now. It will be a complicated surgery and she needs lots of prayers! Her family could use financial assistance during this time also. If you can help, let me know and I will get you the information. She has 3 daughters, ages 14-19.

Finally-(I know you've been watching for this) Have the OK from The Scott County Family YMCA to start Absolute (Ultra) beginner line dance lessons on Sunday March 22 from 3:45-4:45pm. No experience needed. Two left feet welcome. Wear comfortable clothing. Children are welcome as long as they are not running on the dance floor. We want everyone to be safe. Starting with basic steps & putting them to music. The cost is $5 per person for non-members, free to members. For non-members, there will be a guest form to fill out your first time & ID will be needed. So, it will be best to come a little early to avoid long lines. If we have a large group, we will be in the gym & no boots are allowed on the gym floor. If we have less than 30 people we can move to the exercise room where boots are allowed. These lessons will run for 9 weeks, the last lesson on May 17. Any questions contact Linda Humphrey 812-528-2107

From Richard: Clogging at the Y!
GOOD NEWS GOOD NEWS ..
We got the go ahead to start classes back up for next Wednesday March 18 from 6:30/8:30 at the Scott Co YMCA.
For your first night you will need to bring your ID . Fill out a info sheet. Name address phone # emergency contact person. They will put a copy of your ID on that for there file chart . Sorry that's just there rule.
After that each week you will just sign in on the clogging class sheet . I was able to keep classes at $5.00 like before .
When your at the front desk our class room will be to your left . It's a nice size room and we are allowed to wear our clogging shoes in there .

This is the perfect time to get started back if you know anyone that's clogged before and wanting to start back up dancing . We are getting started back up after our winter break and gearing up for the summer shows. We already have some fairs booked for the summer .
Hope to see everyone next week . Please spread the word. This is NOT beginners class yet just getting started back up .

I have begun Line Dance Lessons at the YMCA in Scottsburg. Members get in free, non-members pay $5 for a day pass. There is a guest form to sign one time. Monday 6:30-8:30 beginner to intermediate. Thursday 6:30-8:30 Intermediate. There has been a long line for signing in so it would be good to get there a little early. We will be having class on Presidents Day February 16 even though the YMCA is officially closed. We also have a Saturday night DJ Dance planned in the Gym on February 21. This will be adults only (18 & up) because the YMCA is closed during this time, Boots or footwear that would scratch the floor are not allowed in the gym. Food and drinks are not allowed on the gym floor but there is a tiled area where snacks/drinks are allowed. Dancers will sign in for the dance-I believe the cost will be $6 per person but this is all new for me and the YMCA so nothing is set in stone. A One-hour Ultra beginner class is being planned for March-details will be sent when plans are finalized. We're learning as we go! Hope to see everyone there & make this a positive experience for you and everyone involved. Thank you

Line Dance with Linda will begin Monday Feb 2nd, 6:30-8:30 at the Scottsburg YMCA. This will be the class formerly on Tuesday at Light's Dance Barn. Starting with absolute beginner & progressing to intermediate. We will start in the Multi-purpose room (tile floor) where boots are allowed. If the room is crowded, we have the option of moving to the gym, but BOOTS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE GYM FLOOR. There is no charge for members of the YMCA, $5 charge at the desk for non-members. At your first class for non members bring an ID and sign a guest form at the desk.
The intermediate class will begin on Thursday February 5th, 6:30-8:30pm in the Multi-purpose room for three weeks until the current basketball program is over. On Feb 28th we can move to the gym. In the lobby there is coffee and a vending machine with water & sports drinks. Snacks may be brought in.
The Absolute Beginner Lessons will start in March on Sundays 3:30-4:30pm.
Plans for a Saturday night dance still have to be finalized.
Can't wait to see everyone again!

I guess it's time to announce that we are selling the dance barn to a church.
New Year's Eve will be our last dances. There will be a clogging dance from 1-4, hosted by Trevor DeWitt. Ham/turkey sandwiches will be provided - if you'd like, you can bring a side or dessert to share.
Then that evening, we will ring in the new year with an all-request line dance, hosted by Linda & George Humphrey, from 8-midnight. We will have party favors, dessert, and punch at the dance. There will be a dinner at 7:00 - everything provided - no need to bring anything!
Both dances and dinner will be free. Terry and I have owned the barn for almost 25 years and appreciate the support you have given us over those years. We are going to keep the page so everyone can stay in touch and post where you will be dancing.
