It’s been a long time not posting on social media, but Crash Events is still booking for 2022. We don’t have many dates left, but still room for some!

Crash Events needed this today. As my last gig until MARCH approaches, I'm glad to see that after 10 years of business I'm still going strong and iPod Wedding is not. LOL!

It's been a tough year and I've remained largely silent. It's difficult as a wedding vendor, who's services are a side-hustle, to have much to say about COVID because I'm lucky enough to have a fulltime job that pays the bills and puts food on the table. We have our own difficulties, but in the end I can keep a roof over our heads. Seeing my friends close their businesses, looking for extra work, or can't open because of restrictions is hard. I am sympathetic. Like all disease, virus, plagues, it does not know or care about political affiliation, state lines, and dare I say it...new years. This post isn't about having the answer, it's because I haven't been able to share anything publicly for fear of being shamed for being a part of gigs or public events, but I'm thrilled to say that I made it through my season with proper decisions put into place to protect myself, my family, and everyone around me from getting sick. Have faith in science and if someone needs a few thoughts and prayers, let them have that too.

To my fellow vendors. Keep pushing. Keep creating. Keep patient. This too will pass and we'll all tell the stories of how we made it through, kickstarted something new, and fought through a really tough time. Maybe they will replace our horror stories from previous clients. So, watch the video, laugh a bit, and know that "we have an iPod" is STILL something DJs compete with 10 years later.

The iPod/Mp3 Player wedding is an exploding, and revolutionizing trend. A recent poll by Conde Nast, the publishers of Brides Magazine, showed that in 2009, ...

I don’t do a ton of events for kids, but I never miss the Champaign Park District’s “Mom Prom!!” I was a bit of a Scrooge since I don’t have a good 80s outfit for the theme, but a soccer pullover and promo sunglasses are the perfect “Beastie Boys” outfit. It’s about to get really loud and crazy in here!

Tis the season for new engagements. My website is GARBAGE right now. A toddler and 6 month old are eating up my free time to work on it, but I’m slowly but surely putting it together. If you have questions please email [email protected]

Crash Events - How it began.

It seems like yesterday that my sister threw a high school party and her friend Judd showed up with two speakers, a mixer, and a disco ball. I’m realizing now (12.3.18) that her party was probably 22 years ago! I remember being awestruck that a guy was getting paid to DJ a party for his classmates. I saw my buddy Jeff the next day and said “we’re going to be DJs,” and he simply nodded and said “let’s do it.” For the next 22 years music would be my life. Percussion, musical theater, church choir, dancing, DJing parties and school dances...and time for soccer of course...I tried to do it all.

In 2006 Crash Events was born. Post college. Mostly out of nowhere. After attending a few weddings I brought DJing back into my life. Year one, 3 gigs. Year two, 7 gigs. Year three, 22! I found my niche. I’ve lost count of how many events and weddings I’ve done at this point, but it has to be over 1,000 and I’m happy to continue for a bit longer. Always my “side hustle,” DJing will remain something I love to do v.s. something I need to do. It keeps me honest and interested in my clients/friends. I’ve made a ton of friends, one enemy (you know who you aren’t), and am thankful for those who help me promote my biz.

I’m hardly a salesman. I play good music and have a great knowledge of the music industry through the decades. CE keeps it organized and works well with each vendor, venue, and wedding planner because we’re all in it together to make sure your event goes well!

The first concert I attended was Boyz II Men featuring MC Hammer, and I’m pretty confident in saying that Santana’s “Soul Sacrifice” live at Woodstock is my favorite song ever, but the first two singles (on tape) that were truly mine were Go Ninja Go! and Don’t Worry, Be Happy.” If I can offer you any advice about your event or wedding it’s from those two songs; Sometimes the ridiculous music can be the best music, and don’t worry, be happy.
