The Savannah Arts Academy Choral Department invites you to join us for our 2026–2027 concert season: Tapestry of America—a yearlong celebration of the people, places, stories, and sounds that have shaped the American musical landscape.

Throughout four concerts, our singers will explore the many threads that make up our nation’s musical tapestry:

From treasured traditions to contemporary voices, each concert will highlight the incredible diversity and artistry of American choral music. The Savannah Arts Academy Chorus is thrilled to welcome Dr. Nicholas Pierle as our new Director of Choral Activities beginning this fall! We can’t wait to see the program continue to thrive under his leadership. Welcome to the Panther family, Dr. Pierle! 🩷🖤

Nicholas Pierle, DMA, is a conductor, tenor, and educator with experience in secondary, collegiate, church, and community music settings. Most recently, he served as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Director of Music Ministries at Grace Lutheran Church in Champaign, Illinois. He previously taught at Queens University of Charlotte and in the Fort Mill School District.

Dr. Pierle has conducted and collaborated with ensembles and artists across the United States and internationally. His research focuses on choral pedagogy, voice science, and singer agency, and he has presented at regional, national, and international conferences.

He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Music from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and master’s degrees in Choral Conducting, Vocal Performance, and Vocal Pedagogy from East Carolina University. He is excited to join Savannah Arts Academy as Director of Choral Activities this fall.

We're thrilled to have completed a fantastic week-long performance tour of Austria with our orchestra and choir students, where they had the opportunity to perform in beautiful churches in Salzburg and Vie. A. This experience has been a testament to the power of music to connect people from across the globe. Next, we're off to Prague for a few days of before heading back home! 🎵 🇦🇹

We had an amazing evening as our Savannah community came together to fill the auditorium with students, musicians, friends, and families for the Savannah Arts Academy outdoor concert, which moved inside due to weather concerns. Even with the last minute change, the space was filled with music and the joy of sharing one more concert before the end of the school year.

Thank you to all of our students and directors who adapted so quickly and made the night such a success. A special thank you to Brad Binion and his incredible crew for providing outstanding sound design and helping create a memorable evening.

We invite you this Thursday to the Senior Vocal Recital. This performance features many of our graduating singers who will receive the Fine Art Diploma Seal and cord for graduation. We welcome you to the performance at 6 pm and hope to open doors around 5:30 pm here in the SAA auditorium.
