Summer weddings in the Lowcountry are BEAUTIFUL, but that heat is no joke. A few ways to keep you + your guests comfortable:

✨ Provide handheld fans during the ceremony
✨ Choose an air-conditioned venue in summer months
✨ Hosting outdoors? Consider a tent for plenty of shade
✨ Add large fans or portable cooling units to tented spaces
✨ Keep water stations easily accessible throughout the day
✨ Offer cold drinks or a fun frozen cocktail at cocktail hour 🍹
✨ Build in indoor breaks for the wedding party between photos
✨ Consider a a later ceremony once the sun starts going down

Wedding party introductions typically happen after cocktail hour and before dinner, setting the energy for everything that follows. And then… the moment everyone is waiting for - the newlyweds! It is their first big entrance into the reception as a married couple! From there, couples may head straight into their first dance, welcome guests, or move into the next part of the reception timeline.

It’s a small part of the timeline, but when it’s organized well, it creates such a fun transition from cocktail hour into the celebration.

Planner tip: Keep introductions quick, upbeat, and organized. Your wedding party sets the energy—but the newlyweds are the grand finale. 🤍

If you’re planning a Southern wedding, you may have heard of the tradition of burying a bottle of bourbon before the big day—but what does it actually mean?

Southern folklore says that if you bury a bottle of bourbon at your wedding venue exactly one month before the wedding, it’ll help keep the rain away on wedding day.

Tradition says the bottle should be buried upside down near the ceremony location. Then, after you say “I do,” you dig it back up and celebrate with a toast! 🥃🤍

Does it actually control the weather? We’ll let you decide. 😉 But as Savannah wedding planners, we’ll take all the good-weather luck we can get!

And honestly… any wedding tradition that ends with bourbon sounds pretty good to us. 🥂
