We’re honored to celebrate the release of George Winston’s The Winter Show: Live Solo Piano Concert—a beautiful tribute to the warmth, wonder, and extraordinary artistry he shared with audiences throughout his life.

The Carriage House was fortunate to welcome George 18 times between 1999 and 2019, and we’re especially proud that two tracks on this posthumous album were recorded here at Montalvo’s Carriage House Theatre. His music filled our intimate theatre with unforgettable moments, and we’re grateful that a piece of that history can now be heard and cherished by listeners everywhere.

This Friday, October 2, 2026, join us for South First Fridays at Miro Gallery from 6–8pm for the last chance to view 𝙏𝙝𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙙𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙈𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙮 without an appointment! Meet exhibiting artist and LAP Fellow Namita Paul, view the exhibition, and participate in 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘓𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘦, a hands-on art-making activity where you are invited to use fabric markers, thread, and your creativity to share where you find refuge. Pieces contributed through this activity will be used to construct a future artwork, 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘩𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘙𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘨𝘦. 💫

𝙏𝙝𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙙𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙈𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙮 is on view August 20 – October 25, 2026. The exhibition is open to the public as part of South First Fridays on October 2, or by appointment. To schedule a visit, email [email protected].

🚗✨ Join us for the 4th Lowrider Art Showcase at Montalvo Arts Center—a free, family-friendly Día de los Mu***os celebration featuring stunning lowriders, hands-on art making, local artists and food vendors, DJs, dancing, beautiful gardens, and more.
We’re proud to celebrate alongside our amazing community partners, United Lowrider Council of San Jose and Local Color SJ, who help make this gathering such a joyful tribute to creativity, culture, and connection.

We’re deeply grateful to all the wineries and restaurants who shared their talent, generosity, and delicious fare, and to every guest who joined us, raised a paddle, and helped support Montalvo’s mission. ☀️🍷🍽️ The sunshine, the flavors, the conversation, and the community spirit made for one of those truly magical afternoons on the grounds.
