We drove an hour and a half to swap our big cart for a smaller one (we decided this would be better for Ziggy), and received excellent instruction from Nichole at Silver Star Equestrian Center. She was an amazing teacher and helped increase our skills and confidence. Ziggy is AMAZING and we will share more pics and videos of our experience there soon. For now it’s time to rest after a full day of learning.

It’s taken me 3 months to be able to write this post. We all grieve differently. My little family lost our beloved American Akita, Kira this last October. She was the first animal that woke me up and made me realize how deeply they can heal our lives. We had her for 9 years. She loved us, protected us, comforted us… and I refuse to even think that this life is the end of it. I know we’ll be with her in heaven someday. She was blind here on earth but now I know she sees so much more clearly than the rest of us. There are no words good enough to describe our families love for her. We love you, Kira! Save a place for us in heaven.❤️💔

My smallest horse, Strider, will be taking his therapy horse certification test in a few months. He will be trained to go into hospitals and assisted living facilities to give some happy moments to those who need it most. As part of his testing I need to submit video of him walking up a few stairs. We have a couple in our backyard that he goes up easily but I’m hoping for another option as well. Also if anyone knows of a public building that I can enter for training purposes to get him used to more indoor environments that would be really helpful! He will have on clean rubber boots so there will be no damage to any surfaces. Please leave a comment or send me a message if you have any ideas that could help me accomplish his training.
