Celebrating Sarasota Catering Company 20th
Anniversary!!
I never thought that I would be celebrating 20 years at Sarasota Catering Company. I started this business with the intention of opening a business and maybe working at it for 5 years or so. I was mistaken, it has been 20. During that time the housing crisis, inflation, credit rate increases, hurricanes, pandemics, and life have interfered with my plans. These factors had slowed the growth of SCC more than I expected.
In spite of these things SCC has prospered and developed a good reputation in the process.
When I started the business, I believed that everyone could make good food, but service would distinguish us from the other caterers. I have since learned that not everyone can make good food. Many of our reviews complement our service, from working with clients to the development of the proposal, to the event staff that provide service to the clients and their guests. By the way the food is good too.
We have received numerous awards and recognition over the years from our clients and professional organizations. SCC has averaged between 500 and 700 events per year ranging in size from 2 people to 700 people. Some of these have been one-time events, such as weddings or celebrations of life; some are for businesses and organizations that use us regularly. We have some clients that have used us for their wedding, anniversary, baby shower, and a big birthday.
SCC has supported many organizations with fund raising and donations including the YMCA
Bakers Ranch, Children First, Ringling College, WEDU, Habitat for Humanity, and Our Mother’s House.
The employees, both full and part-time, as well as the individuals that work on call are the main
reason for our continued success. Their efforts and ideas have allowed us to continuously improve and innovate. Many have worked for SCC for a long time, while some just a few months. While it is impossible to mention them
all, it is important to recognize some of these individuals.
