People sometimes wonder why floral design costs what it does, and I want to be super clear: it is never because your florist is overcharging you!!! We pay a high-end price at the wholesale counter before we even touch a stem, then we have to add on our time and labor to create what is ordered.
Take this one small pile of greens, filler, and supporting stems, for example. That is for a single order—and it just cost me $105 in wholesale product alone. And I still haven’t even purchased the focal flowers yet! (Just to put it in perspective, a single bunch of roses runs around $50 on its own.)
Every stem is carefully calculated and hand-selected to stay within a budget, but wholesale costs add up remarkably fast. Independent florists aren't trying to break the bank; we're just working with expensive, high-end materials to create something beautiful for you.
Thank you for always supporting small and appreciating the real cost of botanical art! ✌️🌸☺️
