Anna Burns

Anna Burns Wedding videography and portrait photography for the Tri-Lakes region and surrounding areas. Hi! I'm Anna.

Since 2018 this page has been operating under "High Peaks Events" but as of 2025, the transition has been made. I'm a local to the high peaks region of the Adirondacks and I love to film weddings for both locals and visitors saying "I do" in the area. After some peer pressure, I also offer portrait photography specifically for high school seniors and families looking to update their photo collecti

It's been a while, but the camera is still working! This past summer I was asked to take photos for a local family. The matriarch hasn't been doing well and they wanted to preserve some memories with the entire family before it's too late. Everyone in one room when it's not a holiday is a rare sighting. So we did just that...and giggled plenty of times throughout. A highlight for myself was an informal interview that was done. We covered funny family moments from years past and recorded heartfelt messages for family members to listen to for years to come. The love and appreciation in this room was astronomical and I'm so appreciative to have been asked to take part.

It's Friday, so why not share a video from last summer?

Fun Fact: My introduction to Zoe and Michael was the reason why I decided to shift to Anna Burns Media at the start of this year. From our very first meeting to communication after their wedding day, I wanted them to get to know and trust me as an individual...I think I nailed it 😉

Over the past year I've done a lot of thinking about the future of High Peaks Events. This venture started in 2018 when I sat down with my mentor to figure out what I could do to generate income during my slow season: Summer. Using my Bachelors in Mass Communication was (and still is) important to me.

I was encouraged to enter into the world of weddings, but there was a problem: I didn't own any of my own equipment and I didn't feel confident enough as an editor. That's when I asked my mentor if they'd be interested in working with me and they said "of course!"

So, for a few years we worked together as a solid team to produce high quality content for local and visiting couples; thriving off the positive feedback in our ability to preserve visual and audible memories.

A few years ago, my gut started screaming at me...it was time to reach outside my comfort zone. After a positive and encouraging conversation, the reins were fully handed over to me to take over the process from start to finish. For this I will forever be grateful.

Since then, I've met with wonderful couples both in person and virtually to see if my abilities would be the perfect fit for their wedding day. It's always been important to me that couples get to know me as an individual before trusting me with their most personal moments.

Then, change came knocking at my door again this past spring. I was asked to take photos for a close family friend. Since I've known them for half my life, I agreed. I was thrilled with how the photos turned out and offered to take more for a friend visiting from overseas this summer. When they saw the photos they encouraged me to pursue this more seriously. So, after being read the riot act, I agreed.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that over the past couples years I've been selling myself: Anna Burns, not High Peaks Events.

I'll forever be grateful for what High Peaks Events has brought my way, but it no longer embodies what I bring to the table. With that said, change is coming. In 2025 I'll be retiring the High Peaks Events name and will be transitioning to Anna Burns Media.

Other than the name change, nothing else will be transitioning at this time.

It's all a bit nerve wracking, but I look forward to the growth that I hope this will bring so I can continue doing what I love: Bring happiness to others by preserving memories, both through video and portraits. If you're still reading this, thank you.

When you photograph an animal lover there's no shortage of giggles and doggy energy. My favorite part were the dog butts leaning into me as I was lining up to take a shot 🤣

Medieval times but not over the top, that's the theme last night's couple was aiming for. A magical ceremony setting, games dispersed throughout, wooden flowers 😮😍, A PASTA BAR and many desserts were only part of the fun that was had. This unique wedding was one for the books.
