Founded in 2010, The BBQ Rig is a full service commercial kitchen and smoker on wheels! Helmed by Pitmaster and California Renegade, Chef Kurt Alldredge, we specialize in East Texas Style BBQ and creative sides, using fresh, local (whenever possible) ingredients.
We bring the smoke to you!
All our meats are prepared fresh on the mobile BBQ Rig, NEVER cooked ahead, and reheated on-site. Our menu items are made fresh, from scratch, by Chef Kurt and his team of merry BBQ mavens. YEP! We love ourselves some BBQ as much as we love our team spirit.
Little known factoid: Chef Kurt Alldredge is a classically trained Chef, having had the prestigious title of Executive Chef for Universal Studios. He’s a humble man, true trait of a cowboy, but we can/will taut his having held that position for a number of years, since that career high is what brought him here, to us, on the Central Coast. He calls Santa Ynez home, is an avid outdoors-man and dreams in smokey detail the creative menu items we offer. OK! OK! He also dreams of Stripper fishing up on the Delta, while camping under the stars, his trusty companion, Ember, by his side. Chef loves to work on puzzles! The higher the piece count, the greater his satisfaction. He always has one going at home, and his team can often be found after hours, “puzzling” alongside him. YEP! We love our boss!
