Sonoma has been home base for us for years, and if there’s one thing this part of Wine Country never runs out of, it’s beautiful places to say “I do.” Redwood groves, century-old barns, rolling vineyard hillsides, every property on this list brings something completely different to the table, and each one has taught us something new about designing for a space instead of against it.

Watch for these as we move through a few of our go-tos: Villa Vanto, Dawn Ranch, Oak Grove Estate, Beltane Ranch, Double R Ranch, Viansa, Kunde Winery, Ru’s Farm, and the Barn at Harrow Cellars.

Some are polished and editorial. Some are wild and rustic. All of them have been the backdrop for a day we still think about.

There’s a reason people call Carneros the quiet side of Napa. Bouchaine sits right in the middle of it, on land that’s been growing vines since the 1880s, and the second you’re on the terrace, you feel the difference. No crowds, no rush, just rows of vines rolling out toward the hills and a kind of stillness that’s hard to find anywhere else in wine country.
