Recreating The Parent Trap bridal scene with my little girl—because this movie is the reason Margaret Ellen Bridal exists today.

At eight years old, after seeing the movie, I immediately began dreaming of becoming a fashion designer. My mom bought me my first (and only) sewing machine and started teaching me the basics. Sadly, I didn’t stick with sewing, and my mom ended up using the machine more than I did. Still, I would draw colorful, childlike dresses during elementary school and dream of becoming someone like Elizabeth James.

Fast forward to 2016—I had been teaching for a few years when my best friend’s mother reminded me of my wedding dress dream and encouraged me to open a bridal store in Santa Rosa Beach. The dream reignited instantly, and I called my mom that very night. While she thought I was a little crazy at first, she came around to the idea a few weeks later and agreed to partner with me. Eleven months, a lot of planning, and countless prayers later, we opened the doors to our intimate bridal boutique just off 30A.

If it hadn’t been for that iconic movie, the seed might never have been planted.

When planning this shoot, I originally thought we’d recreate the scene with my daughter Ella and our model, just like in the movie. But I’m so thankful that my team and Amber encouraged me to be the one in the dress. Now I have these beautiful, iconic photos to cherish for years to come.

I’m crossing my fingers (and toes!) that the Margaret Ellen Bridal legacy continues with Ella one day. After this shoot, she even changed her mind from wanting to be a teacher to wanting to work in the shop—so maybe we’re on the right track!

How To Preserve Your Gown Step By Step🤍

1. Gather your dress and up to 5 accessories, unbustle the train, and check to see if there is any damage or noticeable stains.

2. Bring your dress and all of your items to Margaret Ellen Bridal to drop off. Fill out our cleaning and preservation form and fill out your address for return shipping.

3. We then carefully packaged your dress + accessories and schedule a FedEx pick up.

4. Wedding Gown Preservation receives your items and begins their process of carefully and organically cleaning your dress and accessories. This step takes 6 to 14 weeks!

5. Your dress is then shipped straight to your door and your memories are preserved for years to come✨

It’s time for our Semi-Annual Sample Sale and YOU DO NOT WANT to miss it!

Want a designer look for less? Join us for THREE DAYS of great deals JULY 24th-JULY 26th for our Summer Sample Sale. Sample gowns will start at $500! Read below to see if this type of appointment is good for you and request your private, one hour appointment through the link in our bio!

* You have shopped previously and know what you are looking for! This is a fast-paced appointment, so it is best for this to not be your first appointment ever.
* You love a good deal! Dresses will range in range in price from $500-$2,000!
* You are a size 4-8 in regular everyday clothing. The sample gowns will be primarily BRIDAL sizes 10 and 12. Keep in mind bridal sizing is not your normal size. Example: if you wear a size 6 in everyday clothes then you more than likely will wear a size 10 in a wedding gown. Wedding dresses can also be altered down to fit you so that is why we say even size 4 brides can shop the sale.

Additional important information below!
* Brides are allowed 3 guests to the appointment.
* There is a $25 non-refundable booking fee for the sample sale.
* Full payment of the gown you choose is due the day you find the dress. There will be no holds on gowns. Cash and Credit Card are accepted. Checks are not accepted during the sale.
* ALL SALES ARE FINAL!
