Back-to-school is just a few weeks away. Make your August count by checking out Summer of Fun Day Camp at The Activity Center -- Santa Monica's #1 spot for kids.
This amazing program operates Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM and includes art, games, virtual reality, cooking and daily field trips to local pools, beaches and attractions (bowling, glass bottom boat rides, Griffith Observatory, Wildlife Animal Center, Discovery Cube LA, etc).
Campers work together to cook their own hot lunches and delicious snacks.

All LA area schools are closed next Friday, November 11 in observance of Veteran's Day. The Activity Center will be holding Pop Up Day Camp from 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Last Monday was a complete sell out in advance. Be sure to reserve your spot early!

After 5 years of providing popular day camps, after school activities, birthday parties and even distance learning support, The Activity Center is in danger of closing at the end of this month.

With the Covid-19 pandemic still raging and elementary students unable to receive vaccines, most large scale private parties and events have been put on hold.

We need to raise approximately $12,000 to justify keeping the doors open.

Anyone donating a minimum of $40 will receive a pass to our popular 'Kids Night In' evening drop off event, which operates most Saturdays. There are additional incentives for larger contributions.

We thank you in advance for any support you can provide.

The Activity Center needs your help. We are pre-selling popular programs and experiences to raise funds so we can remain open and serve the community.

The end is almost here! Thank you Santa Monica for another amazing summer. We have three weeks left before back to school. Spaces are very limited filling up quickly.
We had to turn people away almost every day in June and anticipate being completely full for most of August as more families return home from summer vacation. If you would like to join us, please reserve your space ASAP. Full week reservations will be taken first, any remaining spaces will be made available for single day "drop in" approximately 3 days in advance.

This has been an incredible summer so far. In addition to our daily on-site games and crafts, campers have used private shuttle transpiration to enjoy spectacular pools and waterslides, nerf gun wars and ice cream making at local parks, hikes in Malibu, trips to the California Science Center and abandoned Los Angeles Zoo in Griffith Park, a walking tour of Chinatown and, of course, sun and surf at multiple area beaches.

And the best is yet to come..

We hope to see all of our old friends again as we wind up the Summer of Fun!

THE ACTIVITY CENTER IS BACK! Thanks to the recent drop in new COVID cases and continued progress in negotiations with our landlord, we are back up and running and hope to see everyone again soon. We still have a few spaces available in our weekday DISTANCE LEARNING program (it is a bit smaller now) and registration is now open for SPRING BREAK DAY CAMP, March 29 - April 9. It is with great sadness that we have decided to discontinue operations at the end of business on Friday, December 11.

As you know, the COVID-19 pandemic has taken a huge toll on small businesses all over the world. The Activity Center was among the tens of thousands of businesses forced to shutter for three months last spring.

While we were able to reopen and stay afloat for a while offering a scaled down version of summer camp, there were simply not enough students enrolled in our Distance Learning Support Program to cover ongoing rent, overhead and payroll obligations.

This is obviously not an ideal time for any business that relies on “in person” services and we are deeply grateful for the support shown by so many families within the community over the past four years.

We do not plan to vacate the space right away, so perhaps there is a way to renegotiate our lease and reopen down the road. (Spring break camp, anyone???)

Or maybe there is another location that could house Activity Center 2.0...

Whatever happens, the past few years have exceeded any expectations we had on opening day. I am immensely proud of the service we have been able to provide to our community and step away with too many wonderful new friendships and memories to count.

Thank you again to everyone who took part in our crazy adventures.

I hope our paths will cross again in the future.
