daaaang this thursday sure came quick!!!

3 years(!!!) ago we had play with us at we are so hyped to have him back for our monthly thursday at Cat Alley. Be sure to peep his recent set for .audio on their YouTube page. A bit from his bio:

“Jimmy B has been acclaimed amongst the finest DJs in the everlasting underground scene of the Bay Area. As a Bay Area resident growing up in the 80s, Jimmy was fortunate to be influenced by a diverse array of culture, especially In the late 90s when he was introduced to various forms of underground music around the post west coast rave scene.”

In addition to Jimmy, we’re bringing two new faces into the swing -

aka Alex cut his teeth DJing in chicago with the likes of killer DJs including Garrett David and plenty more. These days you might see him behind the counter at .sounds and we’re stoked hear what records he brings out for us

Last but not least, J Zen aka has been a longtime homie of tide swing and one of the few others in Santa Cruz helping push the underground house scene. Whether he’s noodling with hardware in the studio or throwing raves in the woods, we love this guy and are honored he was down to close out the dance.

Friday, May 29th, we are gassed to bring back UK psychedelic-dub-electronica rockers for a 3-hour kaleidoscopic DJ set in a new venue for Tide Swing - Madson Wines.

With a fresh EP on Apiento’s Test Pressing label, and both an EP and full length on Munich’s Public Possession, as well as consistently touring both their live set & genre-bending DJ sets, we couldn’t be more stoked to have this wife&husband duo join us again on their spring tour.

Setting the tone, TS resident gets us up to speed with trip&class.

Trip hop. Dub. Krautrock. Techno. House. Psychedelia.

it’s almost Thursday, and we’ve got two(!) tide swing debuts coming in v hot

Rocking us with a 2 hour peak time slot, we are stoked to have Santa Cruz-born and uk dance aficionado join us in the booth. Many of you probably don’t know it, but as early as 2015, Lincoln and his high school buddies were bringing underground uk dubstep acts to SC for their US debuts. Even earlier, he was fully entrenched in the hyphy movement, and still has just about every Mac Dre record released in his record shelves. Nowadays, he’s constantly digging digging for deep cuts of uk funky, garage-tinged house, & other corners of refined-yet-raucous club music. Be sure to peep his soundcloud for archives of his jetty show, Shelf Life, as well as his vinyl-only track Crush on Club (slide 2) with on r.downstairs’ new dubplate imprint.

Warming up the booth, Tee Time ( ) host Randy3k aka is sure to have us asking for track IDs from start to finish. We met Randy at Sunset Campout back in 2023, and have since spent more afters trading tracks than we’d care to admit ;]

Last but not least, closes things out like only the brewmaster can.

Thursday, April 9th tide swing is hyped to present , as well as Allen Riley aka at Cat Alley Street for this month’s weeknight dance

taking over the TS console for the first time, Philly-born DJ Sploink kicks things into gear w/ his favorite digs of higher energy prog, techno, trance, etc. If you’ve stopped by offshore records more than once in a week, chances are you’ve seen Sploink rifling through the dance music stacks. This guy is constantly digging for his show Tactile on , and we can’t wait to hear what’s in the bag for tide swing.

taking care of visuals through the help of a couple CTV’s and (maybe) some projection action, Allen Riley makes his ts debut as well.

“Allen Riley is an artist working with socially interactive video art and performance. He builds video arcade games as a form of public art with Arcade Commons in Brooklyn, NY and curates video, music, and performance at Indexical in Santa Cruz, CA. Riley is a PhD candidate in Film & Digital Media at UC Santa Cruz.”
